Add BollywoodShaadis on Google31-year-old Dutch model Romee Strijd recently took to her social media and revealed why she won't be walking with Victoria's Secret this year. The former Victoria's Secret Angel explained she was rejected after going through a casting process. For those who are unfamiliar with Romee's work, she walked the show from 2014 to 2018, and was even chosen to wear the Shooting Star Swarovski look in the show's 2018 finale.
Romee took to her TikTok account on Monday, October 12, 2026, and revealed that she had been avoiding the questions about walking with Victoria's Secret this year because it was a "question mark for me too." However, that changed by the end of Monday as her agency confirmed that it was a definitive no. She went on to explain that, while talking to her agency, she asked why she didn't book the show but was told, "They thought you wouldn't fit in the show this year."
Romee asked if there was a specific reason, because she would love more explanation for why she didn't get cast. However, her agency said she was already released. The model explained that it was a completely different story from what they had been telling her for the past weeks. She shared that her agency said the casting director told her late last week that they "weren't there yet" with her, and would let them know before the weekend. She added:
"The whole story doesn't add up, which makes me feel even [more] horrible than not getting the show. I don't feel supported by my agency. I don't feel like I have the straight story. Just be honest, just tell me, and I can go on with my life and let it go, because it's fine. If it's a closed chapter, I just would love to know. And now they kept me in the dark, like, not knowing for so long, that I got a lot of mental stress from it."
Romee ended the video by saying she doesn't think she'll go through casting again. She admitted that while she knows the show will be good, she didn't like the way things were handled and would like to close the chapter. Romee ended the video saying she didn't like how she was treated over the past few weeks and would rather keep the positive memories.
She revealed that she went for casting in NYC after training all summer. For the unversed, this would have marked Romee's return after having two children. Romee said that even though she knew the casting director and a couple of people she'd worked with, she had to do the casting again because the team was entirely new. Romee added that she had hoped to hear from them, but even after five weeks, all she knows is that she is on the "maybe list". She was quoted as saying:
"I thought I was gonna know soon after if I was gonna do the show or not, but I didn't hear anything for weeks. And I think I was on some sort of maybe list. It's Monday now, the show is on Sunday, and I still haven't heard anything. So, I kept asking my agency for updates, but apparently I'm still on that maybe list. It's already five weeks after the casting. So it's been a little bit of a roller coaster mentally for me since I have to continue training, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna do it."
Romee expressed her dismay with the lack of clarity and noted that she had already put so much "time and energy" into it. She admitted that it was difficult for her given she had children now. However, Victoria's Secret hasn't confirmed or canceled anything yet. She shared her own opinion and said she thinks it will be a no. Nonetheless, she keeps training in case they call. She said:
"The show is on Sunday, and they haven't canceled, they haven't confirmed, and I think it's gonna be a no. But I also keep training and continue training cause you never know; like in fashion and in modeling, it's all very last minute. I would love to; I've done everything I could. I went to the casting, I trained, and now it's out of my hands."
