RJ Mitte's Fiancee Reportedly Gave Him Ultimatum To Choose Between Her And His Mom Before His Death

According to the latest reports, RJ Mitte was facing challenges in his relationship with his fiancee, Kennedy Suarez, days before his death at 34.

Breaking Bad actor RJ Mitte's sudden death has left his fans with a lot of questions. While they are still figuring out what might have gone wrong with him in the days leading up to his death, latest reports hint at some tension in his relationship. According to a new update by TMZ, Mitte and his fiancée, Kennedy Suarez, had a conflict over his close relationship with his mother, Dyna. In fact, she allegedly wanted him to choose between her and his mom.

RJ Mitte reportedly faced issues in his relationship before his sudden death 

According to sources close to the late actor's family, Kennedy Suarez felt that Mitte's mother was interfering in their relationship. Some reports also claim that the two women did not get along, which created frequent issues between the couple. In fact, Mitte, who had a close bond with his mother and sister, Lacianne, was not willing to give up on his family. Therefore, the relationship problems were worrying him, and he used to appear visibly distressed in the weeks before his death. 

Still, it is unclear whether Mitte and Kennedy had parted ways before his death. According to the report, the couple was still together for approximately a week before his tragedy. However, neither Kennedy nor Mitte's family has publicly given any comment on the reported ultimatum at the time of the report. For now, the claims about cannot be independently confirmed. 

For those who don't know, RJ Mitte and Kennedy Suarez reportedly knew each other for nearly a decade before their bond turned romantic in 2020. Since then, they have traveled together, support each other, and live a relatively low-key life. Kennedy worked remotely as a human resources generalist and reportedly accompanied Mitte to events linked to his work and philanthropic activities.

Eventually, they got engaged on October 10, 2025. Incidentally, it was Kennedy's 30th birthday. The actor popped the question during the 56th annual Día del Sol United Cerebral Palsy benefit gala in Carlsbad, California. In turn, their engagement was a significant milestone in their long relationship that began as a friendship.

Mitte had also shared his feelings for Kennedy in interviews. During one such interview with People after their engagement, he expressed how he was thrilled to have found his person and partner in life who wanted him to be better in his life. Later, on social media, he also reflected on their bond. The actor mentioned that their love was not always easy; rather, it had endured both good and difficult times.

What did RJ Mitte die at 34?

RJ Mitte was best known for his role in TV series Breaking Bad. He was found dead at his home in Brownsville, Texas, on October 12, 2026. He was 34 at the time of his death. RJ Mitte's representative, Sean Reilly, reportedly confirmed that the actor died by suicide. 

According to the details given by local authorities, police went to to a call at approximately 12:50 p.m. local time. Mitte was later declared dead at 1: 32 p.m. Authorities confirmed that they did not see any apparent signs of foul play. However, the Police Department stated that the official cause and manner of death cannot be confirmed until they get the medical examiner's findings. So, the case is still under investigation.
