Over the years, Ravi Kishan went on to achieve many accolades and stayed grounded to his roots, which shows in his dialect. But not many know that Ravi Kishan was actually born and brought up in Mumbai with roots in Kerakat in the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh.
Many people believed after seeing Ravi Kishan on and off the camera that he hailed from a small town, but that is not the case. Recently, a video was shared by Cyrus Broacha from his podcast, wherein he revealed that Ravi Kishan is a Bandra boy with his schooling from the Rizvi College. However, his guest wasn't able to believe the fact. So, Cyrus revealed Ravi Kishan's percentage in tenth class and that he failed in French.
This left many wondering if it was true, as Ravi never ever talked about his upbringing or his birth place being Mumbai. Netizens expressed their shock. One user wrote, "This is exactly opposite of that guy who lives in a village and talks about philosophy and F1. A few other people were equally surprised to know about him. It's difficult for people to accept background vs current position?"
Another one commented, "It means he has two personalities; the first one is totally fake for the people." A third user wrote, "He’s literally a Member of Parliament from UP and yet somehow you managed to bring Bihar into this?" A fourth one commented, "Why isn't this breaking news, all across I don't know."
It is worth mentioning that a narrative circulates online which claims that Ravi Kishan came to Mumbai with Rs. 500, and faced a lot of struggles to establish himself. While the struggle part is true, and the way he went on to become a star in Bollywood, television and politics is comendable, he has been a Mumbaikar all his life.
Ravi Kishan was born on July 17, 1969, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He went on to act in Hindi, Bhojpuri and Telugu cinema, which turned him into a pan-India star. Ravi Kishan entered politics with the Indian National Congress, and he later joined the BJP. He is currently serving as a Member of Parliament from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Talking about Ravi Kishan's personal life, he is married to Priti. The actor fell in love with her when he was in class 11. It was love at first sight for the couple. And they went on to get married in 1993. At the time of his struggle as an actor, it was only his wife, Priti, who stood with him and believed in his calibre. The couple are parents to four children, Reeva, Tanishk, Ishita and Saksham. Ravi's eldest daughter, Reeva, has followed his footsteps and is working in films. His youngest daughter is in the Indian Defence Force.
Earlier, Ravi Kishan revealed on Kapil Sharma's comedy talk show that he was questioned about touching his wife, Priti's feet before going to bed every night. Ravi revealed that he tries to touch her feet while she's awake, but she never lets him . So, he touches her feet while she is sleeping. Ravi Kishan further added that his wife was with him when he had no money and no fame. Despite that, she never left him. He believes that it is his wife's effort which helped him gain so much fame and money. He added that the way she had taken care of him, she is worthy of getting her feet touched.
