However, people only found out about their plans to get married after their engagement. The couple kept their celebration extremely private, and people hailed them as the most beautiful duo. Recently, they arrived as guests on Karan Johar's talk show, Koffee With Karan season 9.
Recently, on the koffee couch, Vijay revealed that it was Rashmika who asked him the marriage question. However, he never formally proposed to her with a ring or a romantic dinner. The couple's private detail was shared during the new promo of the talk show as they marked their first appearance together as a couple.
In the video, Karan Johar asked the couple how was the proposal, and Rashmika shook her head in a denial. Vijay then explanined that there was no formal proposal and it was Rashmika who kept asking him to get married. However, he said, 'Yes', as she had asked him 100 times. Karan then turned to Rashmika and asked him if she really brought the question 100 times. To which, she quickly clarified that she had asked Vijay for an entire year. Vijay reacted to it and said:
"I am not an a**hole."
The promo further had a glimpse of a rapid-fire round in which Karan asked Rashmika to choose between her Pushpa co-star, Allu Arjun and her Animal co-star Ranbir Kapoor, and she picked Allu Arjun. Karan then asked Vijay who he shares the best on-screen chemistry with. Rashmika quickly cuts in and answered, "Nobody."
Vijay then responded by stating that the golden rule of marriage is to agree with the wife, and said, "Rule no. 101 of marriage: Agree with the wife", which left Rashmika laughing out loud. The episode marks Rashmika's first appearance on the talk show. On the other hand, Vijay had previously graced the show with Ananya Panday for the promotion of their film. The first episode of the ninth season of Koffee With Karan was graced by Salman Khan.
Talkng about Vijay and Rashmika's love story, the two met while shooting of their first Telugu film, Geetha Govindam in 2018. Then they were part of Dear Comrade in 2019. After which, reports were rife that they are together. The couple's relationship was confirmed when they announced their wedding and shared photos.
Rashmika posted adorable photos from the wedding ceremony and introduced her husband to the world. She revealed how he taught her what true love feels like and the true meaning of being at peace. She is the man who made her believe in dreaming big. She added that she is super excited to become his wife. Her long note can be read as:
"Hi my loves. Introducing to you now “My Husband”! Mr. Vijay Deverakonda!! The man who taught me what true love feels like. The man who showed me what being in peace feels like! The man who told me everyday that dreaming big was absolutely ok! Vijju I am always short of words to describe the feelings I have for you!! I’ve always told you that!! I am so so so so soooo excited to becoming your wife! to be your wife! To be called your wife!! It’s full party time now!! Let’s have the bestestest life ever together! I love you!"
