For the unversed, the mehendi ceremony of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda was held on February 25, 2026. While the couple’s traditional outfits grabbed a lot of attention, it was Rashmika and her 14-year-old sister, Shiman Mandanna’s sweet bond that stole the spotlight. Among the many pictures, there was a snap featuring Rashmika and her little sister, Shiman. In the picture, The Girlfriend actress was visibly emotional and was seen resting her head on her baby sister, Shiman’s shoulders, while the latter tried to console her.
Away from the limelight, Rashmika Mandanna is a protective guardian to her little sister, Shiman. In 2024, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, The Girlfriend actress penned a heartfelt note for her baby sister. In the note, she promised to protect her little sister. She also wished to see her baby sister grow up to be a beautiful woman. The note can be read as:
"Dear lil sister, I hope you grow up to be a beautiful woman, a woman who everyone looks up to and respects and I hope in the process you don’t have to fight too many battles in life and I promise you- I will try and protect you as much as I possibly can but there will be so many things that you will have to go through by yourself and at that time I hope the universe goes a little easier on you. I hope you are safe and happy in this world. I love you, my doll."
It is worth mentioning that the sister duo shares a significant age gap. In a 2025 interview with Nod magazine, Rashmika mentioned that her sister, Shiman, is sixteen years younger than her. During the conversation, Rashmika shared that due to her hectic work schedule, she couldn’t see her baby sister grow up for the last 8 years, and this made her sad. She was quoted as saying:
"I cry on my days off. I have a sister who is 16 years younger than me. She’s almost 13 now. I haven’t been able to see her grow up in the last eight years. She’s almost my height now, but I haven’t been able to see her journey."
Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda’s wedding ceremony was intimate yet grand. The ceremony was the perfect example of a regal traditional South Indian wedding. From their wedding look to the venue decor, everything became the talk of the town. The couple shared various moments from their Udaipur wedding along with love-filled notes for each other. Rashmika, in her note, proudly introduced Vijay as her husband. She also expressed her deep love for him. On the other hand, Vijay called Rashmika his bestfriend in his note. "One day, I missed her. Missed her in a way that made me feel like my day would’ve been better if she were around. Like my meals would’ve felt more wholesome if she were sitting across from me.
