According to the latest reports, Ranveer Singh walked out of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwanis much-anticipated film 'Don 3'.
Ranveer Singh is riding on the success of his recently released film, Dhurandhar, in which he played an Indian spy. The film is a blockbuster and has earned more than Rs. 500 crores at the box office. Amid Dhurandhar's success, it is reported that Ranveer has walked out of Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s much-anticipated film, Don 3.
Right after the release of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh was supposed to begin shooting for Don 3. However, the actor chose not to be a part of the franchise. A source close to the development revealed the reason behind Ranveer’s exit and stated:
“With Dhurandhar’s massive success, Ranveer is very clear about the kind of films he wants to do next. He is keen to collaborate with filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Lokesh Kanagaraj, and Atlee, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to be seen in back-to-back gangster films, especially since Dhurandhar is already established in that space.”
The report further stated that Ranveer himself has been aligning his dates and schedule for Jai Mehta’s film, Pralay. The actor has reportedly asked Jai Mehta to advance the shooting of Pralay, a zombie-based film that tells the story of a man who would go to any lengths to protect his family. With Ranveer personally looking into the developments of Pralay, the film is expected to hit the screens before its actual release date.
Since the trailer for Dhurandhar was released, speculation has been that the movie is based on a real-life event. Aditya Dhar later clarified that the movie is fictional, although it draws inspiration from real-life events. While the movie covered Operation Lyari extensively, some events were also shown and later given a fictionalised touch.
Speculations were there that Ranveer Singh has played the role of the brave Indian Major Mohit Sharma, who once took the disguise of another person to be in Pakistan and infiltrated a terrorist outfit. However, Aditya Dhar denied these claims and has not disclosed which real-life role inspired his character. According to reports, Ranveer was paid a whopping Rs. 30-50 crore for his role in the movie. With the grand success of Dhurandhar, people are eagerly waiting to witness Ranveer’s transformation from ‘Jaskirat Singh' to 'Hamza Ali Mazari'.
