Recently, a reel of actress, Rupali Ganguly's mother dancing to the 'Dhurandhar' track, 'Shararat', went viral. Now, the film's actor, Ranveer Singh and director, Aditya Dhar have reacted to it.
It has been weeks since Aditya Dhar's highly anticipated film, Dhurandhar, released in theatres across India. Ever since it hit the screens, viewers have been raving about the Ranveer Singh starrer. In addition to the phenomenal acting of the film's stellar cast, Dhurandhar's standout songs have also captured viewers' hearts. In particular, the song, Shararat, featuring Ayesha Khan and Krystle D'Souza, has taken a life of its own on social media. Among the countless reels that the song has inspired, there's one that has captured our attention the most. In the now-viral reel, television star, Rupali Ganguly's mother, Rajani Ganguly, can be seen giving a charming performance to the song, Shararat.
Recently, Rupali Ganguly's brother, choreographer Vijay, posted an Instagram Reel video of himself dancing with his mother. Urging his sister to also participate in the trend with them, he captioned the post, "Some 'Shararat' with my rockstar! @gangulirajani @rupaliganguly we have to make one!" In the viral video, they turn their home's living room into the dance floor.
While the clip initially shows only Vijay grooving to Shararat, he soon steps aside to let his mother, Rajani Ganguly, take the centre stage. Even on screen, her dance moves, filled with confidence, rhythm, and infectious joy, effortlessly steal the show. The clip ends in an endearing moment between the mother and son duo as Vijay cheers on Rajani before embracing her in a warm hug.
Not long after the Reel was posted, owing to its increasing popularity, it soon caught the attention of Dhurandhar's cast and crew. The film's leading man, Ranveer Singh, himself was the first to react. Impressed by Rajani Ganguly's moves at this age, he commented, “Hahaaaa!!! Superrerrb!!!,” followed by a heart and heart-eyes emoji. Ayesha Khan, who originally danced to Shararat in the film, showed her support by commenting a bunch of fire emojis, while her co-star, Krystle D'Souza, wrote, “How coooooollll.” Director, Aditya Dhar also joined in the praise, calling the mother-and-son dance, “Best Best Bestttttttt,” followed by heart emojis. Rupali Ganguly was clearly proud of her mother above all others. Being unable to hide her excitement, she penned, “Mummmmyyyy rockstarrrrr. The best dance reel on this track.”
Praise for Rajani Ganguly's performance in Shararat did not stop with the cast of the Dhurandhar film. As the Reel continued to gain traction, renowned Bollywood choreographer, Farah Khan, asked, “Will she work for outside choreographers??” Impressed with her dance, Tahira Kashyap gave Rajani the affectionate nickname of ‘rockstar’. Music composer, Palash Muchhal, was of the same opinion as Tahira, commenting, “Wow!!!!!!! Such a rockstar aunty is!!!” Apart from them, many other industry actors and social media creators showered the Reel with praise. Some of them include Gauahar Khan, Ganesh Acharya, Dhvani Bhanushali, Tina Dutta, and Neil Nitin Mukesh, among others. Jio Studios also quipped in, commenting, “Hookstep: Learned. Hearts: Stolen.”
