As per the latest reports, Ranveer Singh alleged that 'Don 3' makers tried to replace him with Hrithik Roshan.
Ranveer Singh is currently basking in the success of Dhurandhar, but it looks like his ongoing tiff with the makers of Don 3 is intensifying with each passing day. According to the latest developments in the feud, two meetings were recently held in the presence of some of the film industry's leading names. During the meeting, Ranveer Singh allegedly called Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment 'unprofessional'.
The meeting, which was attended by Aamir Khan, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Ramesh Taurani and others, saw Ranveer putting up his stance on his exit from the project. On the other hand, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani apparently represented their firm, Excel Entertainment and also raised the issues they had faced with the making of the film.
One of the producers, who was present at the meeting, alleged that Ranveer raised concerns with the crew and said the makers tried to replace him with Hrithik Roshan. He also revealed that it was only after the success of Dhurandhar that he was reapproached. As per a source:
“Ranveer blamed Excel Entertainment for unprofessionalism and not being serious about taking Don 3 on floors. He stated that Farhan Akhtar never had a bound script in place and that, as an actor, he prefers to work only with fully developed material. He further alleged that Excel was exploring the possibility of getting Hrithik Roshan on board and only re-approached him after the success of Dhurandhar, to capitalise on his momentum.”
According to reports, Excel Entertainment has suffered a massive loss after Ranveer's departure from Don 3. As per multiple reports, the actor's exit ruined several things for the makers. The source claimed that the production house had already begun pre-production after receiving the actor's approval. And now, fresh reports have emerged stating that Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment is seeking Rs. 40 crores in compensation from Ranveer Singh for the losses they incurred during the film’s preparation.
Right after the release of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh was supposed to begin shooting for Don 3. However, the actor chose not to be a part of the franchise. After Ranveer’s exit, there were multiple rumours, as some suggested date clashes, and others hinted at ego trips following Dhurandhar’s success. However, a source close to the development revealed that Ranveer’s exit happened for neither reason. When asked about the scheduling rumours, the source dismissed the claim, revealing that the Dhurandhar star and Don’s producers mutually agreed that their creative visions for the film no longer aligned.
