Ranganathan Madhavan, popularly known as R. Madhavan had gained recognition in Tamil cinema with Mani Ratnam’s, Alaipayuthey. Later he had made every girl go weak in her knees when he played the role of ‘Maddy’ in the film, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein. With those tall, dark, handsome looks, this South Indian actor made a permanent place in the hearts of millions. One of the few actors, who has a pan-India appeal, Madhavan has done some remarkable movies like Minnale, Kannathil Muthamittal, Rang De Basanti, Guru, 3 Idiots, Tanu Weds Manu, Vikram Vedha and many more.
Talking about Madhavan’s personal life, his love story with his wife, Sarita Birje is nothing less than a romantic film. After earning a degree in electronics, Madhavan had started conducting communication and public speaking classes all over India. During one of his workshops in 1991 in Kohlapur, he had met his wife, Sarita. After dating for eight long years, the two had got married and in 2005, the couple had embraced parenthood and had welcomed their baby boy, Vedaant.

During the pandemic, the actor gave a sneak peek inside his luxurious home, where he lives with his wife, Sarita, son, Vedaant, parents, Saroja and Ranganathan, their dogs and their bird, Ashley. The walls of Madhavan’s living room are white in colour, making the space look larger. A floral sofa is placed with a glass-top coffee table in the middle of the room. The living room gives a contemporary look with printed armchairs, a white marble floor, glass sliding doors, and a large wooden console along with multiple floor big speakers.
However, the beautiful Tanjore painting atop the wooden console along with the Buddha statue and huge vase gives an artistic yet traditional vibe. A part of Madhavan’s living room includes an entertainment zone with a large pool table.

The dining table and chairs are ornate in golden base, in front of which, there is a small mandir in the corner in a white cabinet. There is a sliding door on one side of the dining space which opens to a small balcony with seating space. Right in front of the dining space, there is a fully-stocked mini bar in a corner. The bar is mounted on the wall in a dark wooden panel with floating glass shelves.
Madhavan’s home gives a soothing vibe with pastel colour palettes and just like the rest of the rooms, Madhavan’s bedroom has a calming effect. With white walls, creamy curtains and marble floor, the room assures comfort and is what one needs after a hectic day at work. The low bed has an elegant off-white and dark wood frame. Exquisite paintings adorn the wall and perfectly blend with the room.

The one thing that marks its significance is the private garden, which stands outside the room. Madhavan loves gardening and loves growing organic veggies in his garden. A dark-coloured marble buddha figure and aesthetic furniture give a calm vibe to the whole setup. He often treats his fans with glimpses of fruits and vegetables grown in his little garden and makes sure to take out time to take care of his sprawling organic garden. The balcony is spread to other parts of the house as well. Not just this, his balcony gives a sweeping view of the entire city.
Madhavan’s house is filled with pastel hues and so is his bathroom. The bathroom features everything white, from cabinets to sinks, the space gives a vibrant look. Large windows enhance the overall space, making it look double. The actor has two cute dogs and his IG handles are filled with pictures of his furbabies.
Madhavan loves spending time at his home when he is not working. Once the actor posted a picture on his IG story, giving a view of his living room and it is nothing less than a dream.
