I Want To Get Married And Have A Cricket Team Of Children: Priyanka Talks About Her Marriage Plans

This international icon has been scaling high on the professional front and has made a mark in both Bollywood and Hollywood. She is none other than the powerhouse of talent, our desi girl, Priyanka Chopra.

While we all know what’s going on in Priyanka’s professional life, we are little inquisitive about her personal life. From pay disparity, casting couch and sexual harassment in Bollywood to her dreams, marriage plans, upcoming projects etc., PeeCee had an intense interactive session at the Penguin Annual Lecture in New Delhi on December 26, 2017.

Priyanka talked about her marriage and revealed:

"My mother has told me to marry a man who can appreciate the hard work I have done until now. Definitely, I want to get married and have a cricket team of children but finding a suitable match for seems to be a difficult task."

Earlier, in an interview with an online media portal, Priyanka's mother Madhu Chopra talked about her wish to see her daughter getting married. She remarked:

"If she finds real love, I would want her to settle down. Otherwise, I don't think she has to. She has worked very hard to get where she is. Just because her mom wants her to get married and she gives in, isn't something that as a mother I wish for. And this is my advice to all career-driven girls."

To which she further added:

"Today, I see many marriages are falling apart. People don't have the tolerance to give each other and their relationship so much time and to see it nurture. So when Priyanka reaches that stage when she has the time to nurture her relationship and give it the attention it needs and demands, she will get married. It's not like you have reached a certain age and now it is time to get married. That's a wrong basis for marriage."

Earlier in an interview to a media portal, Priyanka had also spoken about settling down and stated:

"Marriage is definitely on the cards, but will happen when the time is right. It will happen when it is destined to. If I do decide to take the plunge, it would be with someone who understands and supports that. At the end of the day, two people make a relationship work. It will take an understanding and prioritisation from both."

To which she further stated:

"When there is a ring on my finger, which is actually given to me, then I'll tell the world. Till then no one can claim me."

Talking to the Filmfare in an interview, she spilled the beans about her dark side and retorted:

“I’m a private person. I don’t open up even to friends or family. But while writing lyrics something kept pouring out from deep within. It’s not a persecution complex but I’m fascinated by the dark side of life. I’ve always had a bubbly, happy life. My family has been great, so have my friends but the forbidden fruit has always fascinated me. I like doing everything I’m told not to. My mother sent me to a hostel because I used to say no so often. She always used reverse psychology with me. Maybe it’s a need to prove that I have a mind of my own. But I’ve been a little on the edge.”

She spoke about how she deals with pain, heartbreak and loneliness, and said:

“By crying and writing poems. Writing comes from being inspired, it could be heartache or pain. I don’t like pain but I’ve written that I do.”
