For the unversed, the duo starred together in the show, Udaariyaan and their jodi became an instant hit, as people were bowled over by their unmissable on-screen chemistry. Soon enough, rumours spread that the couple’s feelings for one another might have seeped into their real life as well, and their stint in the reality show, Bigg Boss 16 added more fuel to the fire. Since then, the duo became a subject of headlines every now and then regarding speculations about their wedding. In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary gave a hilarious remark on being asked about her equation with Ankit Gupta. Talking about their friendly equation, the diva stated that they were happy and contented with the same. Priyanka further added that she and Ankit motivate one another and support each other regardless of any situation. Calling themselves to be great friends, she said:
“All good! Apko kya lag raha hai dur se dekhne mein? Hum to bahut khush hai. We are very happy! We motivate each other, we support each other. Toh ye sab wahi jo friends ko karna chahiye wo poora sara humara support hai ek dusre ke sath.”

Continuing in her line of thought, Priyanka stated that she and Ankit both don’t originally belong from Mumbai and live in the city afar from their families. Thus, they both are like family to one another. The diva revealed that Ankit is the person whom she trusts to be with her, whenever she is in need, and he would be there just by a phone call. In her words:
“And the best thing is Mumbai mein kyuki apki family bhi nahi rehti hai, then you know ki koi hai who takes care of you ya jise main ek call kar sakti hun and he'll be there. So definitely it's a beautiful bond, and main chahti hun ki ye rahe hamesha rahe.”

At the end of the interaction, Priyanka was asked to share the truth if she and Ankit were truly planning to get married sometime soon. To this, the diva falsified such speculations and shared how they both simply laugh off such rumours being spread about them. She explained how at this point in their lives, they wish to focus on their careers and getting married is a thing they don’t even wish to talk about. Calling it all baseless conjecture, she revealed:
“We laugh! First thing we laugh. Second thing because we don't even talk about it 'marriage thing.' I'm not thinking about it. ecause abhi wo time hai ki hum dono apne career par focus kare. So, we don't even hume kya baat-vaat karna hai. We are friends! We don't even think about it. We don't even talk about it. "Bas baatein hawa mein hai.”
