Veteran filmmaker, Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, got married reportedly in the 1990s. Their divorce decree was granted at a family court in Chennai in September 2016. In 2014, the ex-couple filed for separation. Now, after a decade apart, Priyadarshan and his ex-wife, Lissy, were seen together at the wedding ceremony of Sibi Malayil's son. Will Mollywood's most loved couple, Priyardarshan and Lissy Lakshmi, reunite? Both of them were seen posing for snaps together at the wedding of Sibi Malayil’s son, Joe. Priyadarshan was also seen holding the hand of his ex-wife, Lissy as they left the stage post meeting the newly married couple and extended their greetings. Both of them walked away and also shared a laugh. Lissy looked stunning in a black saree and beige-hued blouse. Priyadarshan, on the other hand, had worn a navy-blue shirt and black jeans. Priyadarshan and Lissy were seen together back in 2023 at their son, Siddharth's wedding in Chennai.
It is interesting to note that neither Priyadarshan nor Lissy have commented on whether the pair will reunite. Bollywood Shaadis could not verify the information. However, according to a report by MoneyControl, the chemistry between Priyadarshan and Lissy was very evident as per the snaps and videos that circulated on social media.
In a media statement in 2016, Priyadarshan's ex-wife, Lissy Lakshmi, stated that her marriage to Priyadarshan had officially ended. She revealed that both of them had signed the final papers at the Honourable Family Court in Chennai. She called it a real ordeal and said that divorce was never easy for any couple. Lissy revealed that her and Priyadarshan's divorce battle was 'fierce and uncivilised' on and off the courts. Lissy revealed in her statement:
"Perhaps the ugliness of our divorce proceedings says all about the kind of marriage we have had. Anyway, I feel relieved now. This is the end of a long and often very difficult road. All of us can now move on.I thank all my lawyers, friends and well-wishers for their unconditional support and prayers. I thank those friends in the media who has been kind with their words. I am grateful to both my children for all their love, affection and support. Above all, I thank God Almighty."
Priyadarshan, in an interview with Grihalakshmi, admitted that his marriage to Lissy ended because of his ego. He confessed to being raised in a conservative environment and revealed that he should not have expected his ex-wife, Lissy, to have a similar mindset to his. The director stated:
"The only reason for the problem in my family was ego. I was born and brought up in a conservative family, and in my mind, the model of a woman is my mother. When we marry, we should not expect our partner to have the same nature as that of our mother because it is not possible, as she is from a different generation.”
