In a recent episode of The 50, Prince Narula faced a remarkable backlash on a remark he made about Nikki Tamboli that numerous viewers interpreted as body-shaming. Fans came in support of Nikki Tamboli and criticised Prince for his remark. From the start of the show, Nikki has received wide acclaim for her bold demeanour, clear thinking, and unwillingness to be taken for a ride. Prince Narula was making fun of Nikki’s lips while talking to Shiv Thakare and Monalisa in the recent episode of The 50, and all of them were seen laughing as he commented on her lips.
As soon as the clips of his remarks went viral, fans came to Nikki’s defence and slammed Prince for being offensive towards Nikki’s body. They pointed out that she is a confident, unapologetic person who is not ashamed of who she is, how she looks, and Prince, being a senior reality TV star, should be more conscious of what he says about others. The incident opened a larger debate about body-shaming and how women are often criticised for their looks.
Actress Nikki Tamboli, who is currently seen in the reality show, The 50, strongly called out reality TV show star Prince Narula over an alleged body-shaming remark on her lips, questioning his conduct as a “so-called husband, father and public figure." She shared the clip on X, formerly called Twitter, and said that mocking someone behind their back isn’t power. She wrote on X: “So-called husband, father, public figure. If someone spoke about your daughter’s body like this, would you laugh too? This isn’t a strategy. This isn’t a game. This is body-shaming done quietly in the coward’s way." Watch the video here.
Nikki added, “Cameras don’t cancel character. Influence doesn’t excuse disrespect. Mocking someone behind their back isn’t power. If you have something to say, say it to the face. Behind-the-back mocking isn’t strength; it’s fear pretending to be confidence. And influence without responsibility? That’s not leadership. That’s failure. That’s a weakness with an audience"
Prince Narula was also called out by social media influencer, Shadan Farooqui for his remarks on the influencer community. Prince made a remark that social media creators have “ruined the industry” and diminished the worth of conventional actors. Furthermore, Prince also added that influencers are unable to perform outside of "12-second clips and struggle to communicate effectively in front of a professional camera". In an act of defence, actor Karan Patel, Riddhi Dogra and Saddu expressed their disagreement over Prince’s statement and criticised his mentality behind his statements.
Prince is married to Yuvika Chaudhary, and the two welcomed their daughter Ekleen in 2024.
