The 27-year-old, Kajal Chaudhary, the pregnant SWAT commando, lost her life after being allegedly thrashed by her husband, Ankur. Read on to know her husband's words in a call to her brother.
Kajal Chaudhary, a 27-year-old SWAT commando, is all over the news. She was part of the Delhi Police's special cell but met an unfortunate end. The young police officer died after her husband reportedly ass***ted her with a dumbbell and slammed her head against a door frame. Now, her brother revealed the last conversation he had with her and her husband, who threatened them that he would kill her. It is worth mentioning that Kajal was four months pregnant at the time of her death.
Kajal Chaudhary passed away on January 27, 2026, after allegedly being thrashed by her husband, Ankur, who was a clerk in the Ministry of Defence and was posted in Delhi Cantt. As per Kajal's brother, Nikhil, he revealed that his sister never shared what was happening in her marital home with them. However, that day was different as she was sharing her ordeal, and that's when her husband got angry over her. Nikhil revealed that Ankur intervened and snatched her phone. He said:
"She (Kajal) normally wouldn’t tell us much about what was happening, but that day she was sharing her ordeal. While we were speaking, he (Ankur) got angry that she was telling me things and snatched the phone from her."
Kajal's brother revealed that after taking the phone, Ankur told him to put the call on record and use it as police evidence. He accepted that he was killing my sister. He further threatened them that the police won't be able to do anything. The brother revealed that he heard his sister's screams during the call, and the call ended. In an interview with PTI, Kajal's brother shared:
"Then he said to me, ‘Is call ko recording pe rakh, police evidence me kaam aayega. Main maar raha hoon teri behen ko. Police mera kuch nahi kar payegi.’ Then I heard her screams. The call ended abruptly."
Kajal's family revealed that Ankur's family was putting pressure on her for dowry. However, they had given many valuable items during the wedding. According to Kajal's father, Rakesh, they had given Kajal's husband a bullet bike, gold jewellery, and cash. But they started demanding a car and would often taunt her that if Ankur had married someone else, he would have gotten a car. After this, their daughter arranged a car, but they never stopped harassing their daughter. He was quoted as saying:
"We gave them a Bullet bike, gold jewellery and cash at the wedding, but they said our son would have got a car (had he married someone else). Later, my daughter even arranged a car, but they didn't stop harassing her. We couldn't even speak freely to her."
For the unversed, Kajal and Ankur tied the knot in November 2023. The two had a love marriage and Kajal met Ankur while completing her graduation in 2022. After the wedding in 2023, Kajal was selected as a commando with the Delhi police. As per Kajal's family and mother, the couple had arguments since the start of their marriage. She also revealed that they would harass her. He had even taken Rs. 5 lakh from her and made her suffer throughout their marriage. Talking about the incident, Kajal was pregnant when her husband attacked her on January 22, 2026. He reportedly slammed her head against a door frame and even hit her with a dumbbell.
While the police are still investigating the matter, Ankur was arrested on the night of the incident. Initially, he was booked under the charges of attempted murder, but after Kajal's death, charges of murder were added to the case. For the unversed, the couple also had a one-and-a-half-year-old son. Currently, he is living with Kajal's parents. As per Kajal's brother, they would not tell anything about the incident to the child and will raise him on their own.
