A ticket holder from Arkansas won the massive Powerball jackpot on December 24, 2025. He indeed had an amazing Christmas Eve. Reportedly, the ticket was sold somewhere in Arkansas; however, the exact details of the store or the city haven't been revealed by the officials. The winner of the Powerball jackpot has also kept their identity private like many other lottery winners.
Talking about the ticket, the winner of the jackpot had bought a standard Powerball ticket, which ended up matching all the six winning numbers drawn, that included five white balls (4, 25, 31, 52, 59) and the red Powerball (19). Interestingly, the probability of winning in such cases is 1 in 292.2 million. After the winner was announced, Matt Strawn, who is the Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO, had shared:

The Arkansas winner of the popular Powerball jackpot took home a whopping amount of USD 1.817 billion. It is worth mentioning that this is the second biggest lottery prize in the entire history. After winning the massive amount, the winner has two options- either to take the entire amount in 30 years as scheduled or choose the lump-sum cash option, where the entire amount will be paid at once. For those who don't know, the biggest lottery prize was claimed in California in November 2022, which was worth USD 2.04 billion. It is also worth mentioning that the third biggest lottery was claimed in September 2025, worth USD 1.787 billion.
Buying a Powerball ticket is not as hard as it may sound to a few people, rather it is very easy and open to many people in the U.S. According to the official site of Powerball, their lottery tickets are sold in 45 U.S. states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. One can buy tickets from lottery sellers. A Powerball ticket costs 2 USD for one play. When buying the ticket, players can also choose to add Power Play for 1 USD extra.
