Pinky Mali was one of the unfortunate victims who lost her life in the aircraft crash, which also claimed the life of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. It was on January 28, 2026, that Pinky Mali had her last conversation with her dad, in which she told her papa that she was flying with Ajit Pawar. She had told him that she would make him speak to Ajit Pawar. Those were the last words of the 29-year-old Pinky, who was from Jaunpur district, located in Uttar Pradesh. Now, her younger brother, Karan, recalled the last conversation he had with Pinky.
When Pinky Mali's family switched on the TV for the morning news, they were stunned to read about the horrific news of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s death. The Mali family soon read about their daughter, Pinky, among the dead. Pinky's younger brother, Karan, aged 24, was at work back then when his phone started ringing. Karan recollected the last conversation he had with Pinky, and in an interview with News18, he shared:
"She told me she was flying from Baramati to Nanded. After that, there was no message, no call."
Karan's friends had informed him about his sister Pinky's plane crash, and he rang Pinky to check on her. She did not answer the call and so Karan spoke to his father and immediately rushed back to his house. Pinky's father, Shiv Kumar is a taxi driver from Mumbai. He did not have an idea that the casual phone call to his daughter would be the last conversation he will be having with her. He told the publication that his daughter sounded very happy. He had not imagined that this would be the last time he would ever hear her voice. Highighting his last conversation with his daughter, Shiv Kumar revealed:
"Yesterday, she called me and said, Papa I would go to Baramati with Ajit Pawar, and from there I would go to Nanded. That was all we discussed. For some time now, she had been travelling continuously with Ajit Pawar and had accompanied him on four earlier trips. I have lost my daughter. I do not know what exactly happened, as I have no technical knowledge about such incidents. I am completely shattered."
The report highlighted the conversation Pinky had with her father in which she had clearly stated that she would be flying to Baramati and then to Nanded. The aircraft from Mumbai took off around 8.10 a.m. on January 28, 2026 and around 8.45. a.m. it crashed. Eyewitnesses informed that the flight was engulfed in flames like in seconds.
The last rites of flight attendant, Pinky Mali were performed at Mumbai's Shivaji Park crematorium. She had got married three years ago and was staying in Kharigaon area in Thane with her husband.
