What was Sweet Zannat's viral video controversy about?

A private 19-minute and 34-second video featuring intimate moments of a young couple went viral across platforms like Telegram, Instagram, and Facebook. Social media users claimed the girl in the video was Meghalaya-based Instagram influencer, Sweet Jannat, leading to massive online harassment and online trolling. People even demanded the link to the viral video in the comments of her posts. It went on for days, until she finally felt the need to stop the rumour once and for all. On November 28, 2025, Zannat posted a video denying any involvement in the private video leaks, presenting some valid points. Zannat pointed out the physical differences between her and the girl in the viral video.

Zannat also noted that the girl in the video spoke fluent English, which was beyond Zannat's capabilities, as she had only completed class 12 and was not well-versed in English. Reports later identified the couple in the actual 19-minute video as Bengali YouTubers, Sofik SK and Dustu Sonali. Zannat later revealed that she had been distressed by a separate deepfake video created by two boys from her hometown using AI. The boys later issued a public apology in a video where Zannat was physically present with them. The Influencer accepted their apologies, stating that an "elder sister" would do the same for her brothers. However, Zannat warned the guys against doing the same with other girls.

After Sweet Zannat, Payal Gaming faced viral video controversy

Recently, popular Indian YouTuber and gaming streamer, Payal Dhare, known as Payal Gaming, was linked to a viral intimate video. This controversy followed a nearly identical incident involving creator, Sweet Zannat, whose name was also associated with a viral 19-minute clip just days prior. Payal found herself in the sudden spotlight after a widely circulated clip claimed that an intimate video featuring her had been leaked while she was in Dubai. The video was titled 'Payal Gaming Dubai MMS' to make it catchy and get lots of clicks and downloads. This controversy emerged shortly after Payal gained massive popularity as the viral girl in the stands during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final match between India and Australia in Dubai.

Fact-checks by multiple news outlets and digital experts identified the viral video as an AI-generated deepfake or a recycled clip of an unrelated individual and not Payal's. On December 17, 2025, Payal broke her silence regarding the matter through an Instagram post, stating clearly that the individual in the video is not her. She condemned such fabricated content, calling it "deeply hurtful" and "dehumanising". Payal also confirmed that she will be taking appropriate legal steps to address the misuse of technology to malign her. Experts have noted a growing trend of alleged leaked videos being used as clickbait to drive phishing scams or to defame public figures, as seen in recent cases involving Payal Gaming and Sweet Zannat.
