Lindsay Hubbard said in a new podcast interview that Paula Abdul called her a niece on multiple occasions. Notably, this was due to her past romance with someone linked to Paula.
Lindsay Hubbard has been trending over the last few days for various reasons. Notably, her appearance on the Summer House Season 10 reunion drew a lot of attention, during which she confronted West Wilson about his relationship with Amanda Batula, which sparked a different kind of debate on social media. A few days ago, Lindsay criticised West for his comment on a podcast where he expected people to skip the bonus episode of Summer House if the New York Knicks lost an NBA game.

Lindsay Hubbard recalled her past while speaking in a new episode of the podcast, More Life with Carl Radke, on June 16, 2026. For the unversed, Carl Radke was once romantically linked to Lindsay. The duo had an on-and-off romance, where they even got engaged in 2022. However, the pair ended the relationship a year later in 2023.
Lindsay told Carl in his podcast that Paula Abdul considers her a niece, and the reason for the same is Lindsay’s past romance with her nephew. Lindsay said in the interview that she was dating Paula’s nephew when she first arrived in Los Angeles. Notably, Lindsay and Paula spent a lot of time with each other. There were also a few occasions where Paula said that Lindsay was almost her niece. Lindsay addressed the same by saying:
“[It was] to the point where even to this day, she’s like, ‘Lindsay was almost my niece.’ And I was like, ‘No, I wasn’t.’ We ran into her, and she said that again.”
Carl Radke also recalled Paula Abdul calling Lindsay Hubbard her niece when the trio met a few years ago. Carl said that he considered the entire thing a joke in the beginning until he asked Lindsay about it, who admitted that it was true.
Although Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke separated a few years ago, the former told the podcast host that the relationship between them today is completely different. She said that it was the controversial romance of Amanda Batula and West Wilson that brought them close to each other, since they were able to save everything that they had left without involving anyone else. Lindsay further stated:
“You were always someone that really did support me and really show up for me. You knew the real me. You have amazing qualities in a human, and I think you’ve just gotten better and better. Although it might not have looked like that at times, I think there is a mutual respect.”
Lindsay Hubbard added that she and Carl Radke have a better understanding of each other today. She said that this was very hard, even if they were going through a bad phase and shared a close friendship. However, Lindsay admitted that they have a mutual love and respect for each other, which is not fake in any manner.
