Actress and Trinamool Congress MP, Nusrat Jahan opened up about the controversies surrounding her marriage and revealed that she was wrongly portrayed.
Nusrat Jahan has been amid a lot of controversies lately. First, her inter-faith marriage with businessman, Nikhil Jain and later calling it invalid, then her alleged relationship with Yash Dasgupta and giving birth to his son, Nusrat, has been facing a lot of backlashes on social media. For the past few days, Nusrat was questioned about the identity of her child's father and whether she is actually married to Yash Dasgupta.
To celebrate Vijayadashmi, Nusrat had shared a picture on her IG handle, wearing a shakha pola, which is worn by married Bengali women. Along with the red and white saree, she had worn a red bindi and red and white bangles. Nusrat had captioned the picture as “Shubho Bojoya'r Priti Shubechcha O Abhinandan."

In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Nusrat addressed the rumours surrounding her wedding. The Trinamool Congress MP stated that throughout the controversy, she maintained her silence without pulling down anyone. Revealing how she was wrongly portrayed, Nusrat said:
"They did not pay for my wedding, they did not pay for the hotel bills. I don't have to say anything to them. I am honest. I was wrongly portrayed, and now I have clarified it."
A few days after the birth of her child, a report by Times Now had revealed Nusrat's baby's birth certificate, which had mentioned the father’s name as Yash Dasgupta. The certificate had also mentioned the baby's name as Yishaan J Dasgupta and the father's name as Debashish Dasgupta, also known as Yash Dasgupta.
On September 8, 2021, Nusrat Jahan had made her first public appearance after delivering her baby boy. The actress had resumed work as she had attended the opening of a salon in Kolkata in less than a month after the birth of her child. However, while addressing the media, when Nusrat was asked about giving a glimpse of her child, the actress had said that her son's father is not letting her show the baby's face to anyone.

During the media interaction, when a reporter had asked Nusrat Jahan about the child's father, she had retorted, saying that it puts a question mark on the character of a woman. She had said:
''I think that’s a vague question to ask and puts a black spot on somebody’s character as a woman, who the father is.''
A few days back, Yash Dasgupta had turned a year older, and Nusrat Jahan had celebrated his birthday in an intimate manner. On her IG stories, she had shared two pictures from the celebrations, confirming that her child’s father is Yash. In one picture, there was a gorgeous monochrome two-tier cake, in which the first tier had shown her bond with Yash with ‘Husband’ mentioned on it, and the other one had depicted his bond with his child, which had mentioned ‘Dad’. The second picture was from their intimate dinner date.
Nusrat had embraced motherhood on August 26, 2021!
