Ever since David and Victoria Beckham's eldest son, Brooklyn, openly accused his family of trying to sabotage his marriage to Nicola Peltz, people close to the couple or those with a history with them are sharing their own insights into the matter. After Brooklyn Beckham's headline-making statement against his famous family and his desperate plea for privacy and peace, Nicola's ex-boyfriend's sister claimed that the Lola actress has never really wanted privacy. In case you didn't know, Nicola Peltz was romantically involved with Anwar Hadid from 2016 to 2018, long before Brooklyn came to the picture. It turns out Anwar's family wasn't the biggest fan of the billionaire heir.
Recently, photographer Eli Rezkallah commented on a post about the Beckham family drama, saying, "Ending an eight-paragraph rant about his family’s dirty laundry with 'all we want is privacy' is all I need to know." Responding to the comment, Alana Hadid, 40, chimed in with her own experience with Nicola Peltz. Her now-deleted comment read:
"Right, and that girl doesn't want privacy; she's been trying to be famous for a decade."
Nicola Peltz, 31, dated Anwar, 26, from 2016 to 2018. When they began dating, the Transformers 4 actress was 22, and the model was 17. They were often spotted together in public, arriving at events with their hands held. In 2018, the romance ended, reportedly due to strained relations and tensions between Anwar and Yolanda Hadid over Nicola.
While the exact reason for Nicola and Anwar's split was never revealed, some people close to the Beckhams are now pointing out unmissable similarities between Nicola's current marriage and her dynamic with her ex's family. In a recent report by The Mirror, Nicola had a "difficult relationship" with Yolanda Hadid, and the latter was "so relieved" when Anwar broke up with the former socialite.
Brooklyn Beckham's ex-girlfriend, Scottish singer Tallia Storm, also weighed in on the highly publicised Beckham family drama. In a recent chat with The Mirror, the singer revealed how she always felt unwelcome in the Beckham family when she was dating Brooklyn during their teenage years. She recalled that, despite her support for Brooklyn, his family, especially Victoria, did not like her. Sharing one such unforgettable incident from the Global Gift Gala, she said:
"I was meant to sit next to Brooklyn… and then he messaged me on the night itself saying, 'My mum won't let me come, I'm sorry. Obviously, Victoria didn't like me or whatever... It's always made me look like I was some sort of fame-hungry wannabe."
The couple’s exes have begun speaking out following Brooklyn’s eight-paragraph statement earlier this week, in which he publicly criticised his family, particularly his mother, Victoria Beckham. The 26-year-old former model alleged that his family never made Nicola feel welcome and repeatedly tried to undermine their marriage, claiming there were attempts at bribery and manipulation, a last-minute cancellation of Nicola’s wedding dress, and Victoria’s widely discussed “hijacking” of the couple’s first dance. He further shared that his parents' dislike of Nicola has contributed to an ongoing emotional distance with the Beckhams.
