On March 17, 2026, Navnindra Behl’s co-star, Surbhi Chandna, took to her Instagram Stories and shared a behind-the-scenes snap from the sets of Ishqbaaaz. Along with the throwback pictures, Surbhi penned a heartfelt note for the late veteran actress. Recounting the sweet memories, Surbhi expressed her gratitude to Navnindra for being the guiding light. For the unversed, Navnindra was widely known for her role as 'Dadi'. Surbhi’s note can be read as:
"Miss you dadi. My first show as a lead, and I consider myself lucky we were makeup room partners, I have practically lived the most precious time of my life with you, just the right influence at the start of my career, what better could I ask for our lunches together, our conversations about life? You fondly talked about your love story with Lalit sir, I was your executive producer on most occasions, and we would joke about it. Zindagi ko woh pal apne hum sab ke bohot khoobsurat bana diye dadi. Om shanti."
On March 17, 2026, Nakuul Mehta, the male lead of the TV series, Ishqbaaaz, took to his Instagram handle and shared a wholesome carousel featuring him and Navnindra Behl, whom he fondly called 'Dadi'. Along with the carousel, Nakuul wrote a lengthy emotional note for Navnindra. In the note, Nakuul recalled his earliest memory with the late veteran actress and highlighted that she very much liked rehearsals. He also acknowledged her work. An excerpt from his note can be read as:
"My earliest memory of her was filming my very first scene with her on Ishqbaaaz at around midnight in Turbhe. A solemn moment between the matriarch and her grandson. There was something about her presence that made you feel so present in every scene. She liked rehearsals. She came from the rich tradition of Punjabi theatre. She wrote, directed and produced in her time, but never for once brought that heft onto set. I’d quite often drop her back home if we packed up at the same time, and those drives are some of my fondest memories of her. We kept in touch over the years much after the show ended."
Navnindra’s death has left her family and the entertainment industry heartbroken. She had contributed a lot to the entertainment industry. She was recognised for her works in the theatre, Punjabi film industry, Bollywood, and also the TV industry. She was married to Lalit Behl. In 2021, she lost her husband, Lalit because of COVID-19 complications. It was Navnindra’s son, Kanu who announced her death. On March 16, 2026, Kanu wrote a note on his Instagram handle and confirmed Navnindra’s death. The note can be read as:
"My Titan. My faith. Love. Guide. Mentor. My heart. Go well, mumma. Until you birth me again. My eyes shall always seek that irrepressible smile, that warm chuckle, that bear hug, those burning, curious eyes. Forever alight. Thank you for lighting my soul."
Rest in peace, Navnindra Behl.
