The NASCAR world is shocked by the shocking plane crash that took the life of Greg Biffle, along with his wife, kids, and 3 others. Biffle's wife, Cristina's mom shared the last text she got from her.
The NASCAR world is left in shock after a shocking plane crash in Statesville, North Carolina, took the lives of Greg Biffle, his wife, Cristina Grossu, their kids, Emma and Ryder, and three others. The NTBS is currently investigating the incident to determine exactly what caused the crash of the Cessna C550 aircraft. While NTBS is leading the investigation, the FAA is also associated with the investigation. Amid the shocking and heartbreaking news, Greg Biffle's mother-in-law expressed her grief over the incident that took the lives of his daughter and her family.
Greg Biffle's wife, Cristina Grossu's mom, Cathy, recently talked to PEOPLE and shared the last text she received from her daughter. She shared that in the last text, Cristna wrote that they were in trouble. She, with a broken heart, shared that the text was dropped to her when Greg and others were inside the plane and before the crash took place. Sharing how devastating the entire situation is, Cristina's mom said:
"She texted me from the plane and she said, 'We're in trouble.' And that was it. So we're devastated. We're brokenhearted."
Cristina Grossu's mom, in the same interview, revealed that her daughter, along with the other victims, was on their way to Florida for a birthday trip. She further added how hard it is even to bear that the entire family, who was on their way to celebrate a family occasion, passed away in such a horrific way. Cristina was at his mom's home just one day before the incident.
Cathy shared that she couldn't remember the last words her daughter said to Greg, but all she could recall was how his daughter hugged her. Cristina's mom stated that the last words from her daughter would haunt her for the rest of her life. Cristina's mom stated that her grandkids were doing so well in their lives, along with their father, Greg. Sharing that it was a happy family, Cristina's mom shared:
"To think that they would be killed on a birthday trip, that was just such a fun time for the family. And to see the horrific way that it ended, it's just, it is so hard to bear. I cannot believe they're gone. I don't remember what the last words that I said to my daughter or to Greg or to my precious Ryder. I don't remember. I know we hugged, but I don't remember those last words and that's going to haunt me. But they were happy. They embraced every aspect of their life and every moment. And it's such a loss. They touched so many people's lives. It is so hard to bear. I cannot believe they're gone."
Before catching the plane that crashed on December 18, 2025, Cristina wanted to spread joy by delivering Santa letters to 17 families, and she even asked her mom to collect them before she boarded. Her mom, in the interview, said that Cristina finished writing all 17 letters, and sharing joy with all those families was the last thing that she had done.
The NASCAR star Greg Biffle needs no introduction. He was previously married to Nicole Lunders, and eventually, they parted ways. With Nicole, Greg shares a 14-year-old daughter, Emma. It was in December 2022 that Greg Biffle tied the knot for the second time with Cristina Grossu. Together, they welcomed their baby boy, Ryder. Although Emma was the daughter of Greg's first wife, she used to stay with Greg, Cristina, and their son, Ryder.
