Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband, Paul Pelosi, is embroiled in a hit-and-run on July 3, 2026, in California's wine country. As per reports, he left one car with major damage, and the authorities assert that the 86-year-old could face charges for the same. However, not many know that Paul has a history of wrecked car crashes.

Paul Pelosi once killed his older brother in a horrific car crash

Years before, Paul Pelosi was involved in another horrific car crash which killed his brother, David Pelosi, who was 19 years old. As per a local report, Paul was 16 when his car crashed near San Mateo in the early hours of February 22, 1957. It was revealed during the investigation that Paul's brother, David, died due to the neck brace he had been wearing, as he had a neck fracture.

On the other hand, Paul had suffered a collarbone fracture in the crash. He called out for help after getting out of the car. However, the shocking part of the whole episode which changed Paul's life was that his brother had urged him to slow down moments before the deadly crash. He told his brother that there was a bad stretch and he should slow down. 

As per reports, Paul tried to shift gears and slow down when his car lost control. It veered across the road, bounced back from a small embankment, and climbed 20 feet up another and spun around simultaneously while somersaulting. It ended upside down with Paul and his brother underneath.

Paul's brother was declared dead on arrival at Mills Memorial Hospital in San Mateo. It is worth mentioning that Paul had planned a joyride as he had picked up his brother, David, from his girlfriend's house. 

It is worth mentioning that Paul didn't face any charges in the case as it never made it to court. The patrolman revealed that Paul was completely in shock and pain. The details of this horrific teen crash surfaced after Paul was facing another hit-and-run case. Earlier, in 2022, he crashed his car in Napa Valley as he was drunk driving.

For the unversed, on July 3, 2026, Paul was involved in a hit-and-run case in California's wine country and left one car with major damage. The 86-year-old could face charges for the same. He was driving his brown convertible in Yountville, Napa County, when his car hit a legally parked car on the side of the road.

However, Paul stopped to see the damage and quickly drove away, and there were no reported injuries in the crash. A witness who saw the accident quickly called 911. Afterwards, sheriff's deputies found Paul's car with damage in the front, which was parked nearly one quarter of a mile away. 

On the other hand, Paul claimed he knew he had hit something, but he didn't know how his car was damaged. It is worth adding that Paul wasn't drunk at the time of the crash and he was fully in his senses. Later, the sheriff referred Paul to the California Department of Motor Vehicles to investigate and determine if Paul is able to continue driving. It is worth noting that it is a perfectly normal process for elderly drivers.

Paul was not arrested in the matter, as there were no physical injuries to anyone involved. But he fled the scene of an accident; he might face charges for the same. o far, Nancy Pelosi has not shared or responded to the whole crash.
