Retired ex-FBI agent thinks that Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper is not a sophisticated offender

A report by the Hindustan Times revealed that a retired ex-FBI agent shared that Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper has made mistakes which will directly get him captured. Jim Clemente has been someone who spent 22 years in the bureau and revealed that the 'Poirch Guy' who is actually the masked man is not a sophisticated offender. Jim Clemente shared that the surveillance video that showcased the kidnapper had hints. Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper may have scouted the location before kidnapping the old lady

Jim further revealed that the alleged kidnapper of Nancy Guthrie may have scouted the full area before planning the kidnapping. He revealed that foliage was used to kind of block the nest camera lens, and he hid his facial hair via the ski mask. Jim further revealed that the investigators have kept the details about Nancy's home a complete secret. However, some details related to her house has been leaked but Clemente believed that what it means is he threatened her with his gun when he was at her bedside. Jim felt that the kidnapper got Nancy to come down, and at the front door, she realised he was going to take her. Nancy found it dangerous, and she fought and did the same. Jim further shared:

"In the process of doing that, I believe he revealed what looked like a tattoo on his wrist, which would not have been revealed had he adequately prepared for that camera being there. So it tells me that he is not a sophisticated offender. He was sort of bumbling his way through this, and he made other mistakes, and I believe those mistakes will directly lead to his capture.”

Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper's behaviour may have changed

The doorbell clip reportedly showed that Nancy Guthrie was taken. When the deputies came the next day, the camera was missing. The kidnapper may have been shocked that authorities were still able to recover the clip. Jim felt that the kidnapper made mistakes due to his ineptness and also non-professional behaviour. He added:

"I believe that he exhibited a great degree of stress when the images were first released. Anybody around him should have noticed that change in behavior and potentially be able to identify him because of that. If it is a hair from the offender, then it will lead to his identification. They will have his name."
