A heartbreaking message ahead of Mother's Day has been left for Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper in the hope that the abductor will be emotional.
Savannah Guthrie's mother, Nancy, was abducted from her Tucson home in Arizona on February 1, 2026. It has been three months, and there has been no trace of the old lady. Now, Mother's Day is on May 10, 2026, and ahead of the same, a person who has been taking care of the memorial in front of her house left a very heartbreaking note for Nancy's kidnapper.
A while back, an investigative reporter named Michael Ruiz shared on X a heartbreaking message for Nancy's kidnapper. The handwritten message was left outside her memorial amid Nancy's disappearance. Authorities are continuing to search for Nancy, but the handwritten note has now gone viral on X. The message was left outside Nancy's memorial, located outside of her Catalina Foothills residence. The message was addressed to the abductor and spoke about how his or her mom would be ashamed to know on what he or she did.
Before Nancy's kidnapper takes flowers for his or her mom on Mother's Day, Nancy should be taken home. At least, her family should be told about her whereabouts so that they can celebrate Mother's Day. The unknown person advised the kidnapper to do the right thing and share:
"Someone placed this Mother’s Day message outside Nancy Guthrie’s home, addressed to her abductor. “Your mom would be ashamed if she knew what you did. So before you take her flowers on Mother’s Day, take Nancy home or tell the family where she is."
A user seeing the heartbreaking message wrote, "A person capable of abducting an 84-year-old woman from her bed will not be moved by this sign as he or she is lacking a conscience. It was Lauren, after she took all the paintings, signs and other stuff from the memorial! Lauren, people want their stuff that you took back. Maybe these individuals never felt loved by their mom. Nanos will tale all the info with him.. have little hope but maybe with new eyes."
Netizens in the comments section showered love on Nancy's family and were moved by the message for the old lady. A report by the Hindustan Times revealed that a lady called Lauren Serpa had claimed that she had posted the message for Nancy's kidnapper. The message that Lauren claimed to have written before Mother's Day showed that she wanted the kidnapper to have a heart and also be emotional. The message was a prayer for Nancy's safe return, and the anguish around the case continues to linger. Lauren had said:
"I put a new letter to the perp out in front of Nancy Guthries this morning. I will continue to keep her name out there until she is found. I have one more sign for the perp that Im doing to put out at Nancy's through the weekend.”
A report by the PEOPLE revealed that authorities near Nancy's Arizona house found a human bone on May 7, 2026. A spokesperson from the Tucson Police Department revealed that at North Craycroft Road and East River Road, which is about seven miles away, a human bone was found. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, earlier in the interview with NBC News, had shared:
"We believe we know why [the kidnapper] did this and we believe that it was targeted, but we're not 100% sure of that. So it'd be silly to tell people, ‘Don't worry about it. You're not his target.' You could be. Don't think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you're safe. No. Keep your wits about you.”
