A profound update has emerged in Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping case as JLR investigator found a pyjama top while searching the area, which was a few minutes away from her home in Tucson, Arizona. The 84-year-old, Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home in Catalina Foothills in Tucson, Arizona, on January 31, 2026. She had her last dinner with her elder daughter, Annie Guthrie, and her husband, who were the last people to drop her off at her home.
After nothing about Nancy was found, the Pima County Sheriff's Office started investigating the matter. Within a few days, an intense search and investigation revealed that Nancy was taken from her home against her will, and it was reportedly an abduction. There have been several theories and leads in the case, but no suspect has been identified or arrested. After nearly four months of disappearance, the discovery of a top and pyjamas adds as a key point in the investigation. Sharing their discovery in a post on, they stated that they found the pyjama and top on the disturbed land, which is 30 minutes away from Nancy Guthrie's home. Soon, they called the authorities to investigate, and they took possession of the findings. The post can be read as:
"A pyjama top has been found on what looks to be disturbed land along Hwy 79. This is about 30 mins North of Nancy Guthrie home. It was recommended authorities [sic] be called. Sheriffs are on scene. Sheriffs are on scene. See something - Say something!"
However, it is worth adding that so far, authorities have not given any update on whether the pajama and top belonged to Nancy Guthrie. The finding of pajama and top is important as earlier during an interview, Savannah Guthrie revealed that her mother was taken from her home in the middle of the night. She had revealed that her mother was wearing pajamas. Hence, any pajama-related findings become a crucial discovery. She was quoted as saying:
"How is it possible that we are having to make a video speaking to a kidnapper who took 84-year-old woman in the dead of night in her pajamas with no shoes without her medicine."
The 84-year-old author, Nancy Guthrie, was last seen on January 31, 2026, after her elder daughter dropped her off at home in Tucson. However, suspicion was raised when she missed a church service the next day, after which a search was launched to find her. Investigators were sure that Nancy was kidnapped in the night, as the surveillance footage had a masked man at her front door. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared that the investigators know the motive behind the kidnapping, and they believe it was a targeted one.
