Currently, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary is hogging the limelight for her role in Ektaa Kapoor’s hit supernatural show, Naagin 7. The TV producer found her 'Naagin' on the show, Bigg Boss 16. For the unversed, Priyanka, who is currently the lead of the show, Naagin 7, was a contestant of BB 16. In fact, Ektaa also used the BB 19 platform to reveal the face of her new 'Naagin'. In a recent interview, the Naagin 7 actress opened up about facing body shaming.
In a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary opened up about facing body shaming after her Bigg Boss 16 stint. The Naagin 7 actress mentioned that when she was in Bigg Boss, she became very thin and in 2024, she had an operation. After the operation, she was on medication for the whole year. Due to heavy doses of medicine, her appetite was gone, and she started losing weight. Recalling how people used to tell her to eat when she was losing weight, Priyanka said:
"I did face body shaming. In Bigg Boss, I became very thin, and last year I got operated on. After that, I was on medicines for the entire year, and during that time, my appetite was gone because of the heavy doses of medicine, so I was losing weight. During that time, when I was losing weight, people were telling me to eat, and I was like, ‘Do you even know what I am going through?’ So that is why I feel you should never comment on someone’s appearance."
In a recent interview with The Times of India, Priyanka broke the silence on plastic surgery rumours. The Naagin 7 actress highlighted that she was on medication in 2024, and the heavy doses of antibiotics made a huge impact on her, for which she lost weight. She mentioned that her face was bloated, and this led people to speculate that she might have gone under the knife. Priyanka added how people react when she applies kajal or wears lenses. She was quoted as saying:
"All these things have been happening for a long time. I was on medication throughout last year and was given very heavy doses of antibiotics, but most people don't know that. It made me lose weight, but my face was bloated, even though people thought it was something else. As for small things, that's okay. Everyone has the right to enhance their looks, and that is completely my choice. If I apply kajal or wear lenses, people start thinking I've done something to my face. Guys, this is my face, and it has its own personality."
Further in the interview, Priyanka shares that it’s completely up to a person whether they would go under the knife or not. She mentioned that even if others think that it’s a bad choice, it’s a person’s call whether to bring change to the face or not. Priyanka highlighted that even though she is a public figure, sometimes people become very insensitive, and that shouldn’t happen. Adding how she handles the negative comments, Priyanka said:
"What's the problem with that? It's your choice. It's your face, and it's completely up to you. Even if someone thinks it's bad, it's still your call. So why do people feel the need to comment or worry about it? I agree that we are public figures, but sometimes people become very insensitive, and that shouldn't happen. I still take it sportingly, but many people can't handle such comments."
