Amid this, several clips have gone viral that show Mrunal and Dhanush exchanging vows. However, it was later revealed that it was an AI-generated video and that it was not true.
While Mrunal has earlier dismissed her dating buzz with Dhanush with certain digs, if not direct, Dhanush's team denied the claims about him getting married to the actress. Recently, Mrunal was caught off guard as she was teased by Siddhant Chaturvedi, and the teasing had a connection with Dhanush.
Recently, Mrunal Thakur was promoting her film Do Deewane Seher Mein with co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi, wherein the reporters told the actor that he was being asked about some questions related to Chennai. It was Siddhant who instantly started joking, as he stated that the Chennai-related question was for Mrunal Thakur. He asked, 'Inse tha Woh Chennai waala yaa mujhse tha?' Well, Mrunal clarified that the question was for Siddhant only, but by then, the entire incident sparked laughter, as everyone understood what Siddhant hinted at. Mrunal was caught off guard with the teasing from her co-star, Siddhant.
Amid dating and wedding speculation with Dhanush, Mrunal Thakur sat for an interview with Filmygyan, where she talked about falling in love. She stated that love is a beautiful thing and people should find love once in their lifetime. Mrunal further added that love changes you into a better person, and it's mostly like reparenting and fixing the inner child issues with each other; thus, it's one of the most beautiful things in the world. Mrunal mentioned that everyone should find love in their life. Mrunal mentioned how the definition of love has continuously been evolving, while mentioning that when someone is in love, that person just does things for love by surrendering.
It was a few weeks ago, when speculations were rife that Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush could marry on Valentine's Day, this year, i.e. on February 14, 2026. There was no confirmation about the couple's wedding, and it was weeks later, when Dhanush's team denied the buzz. In a conversation with Moneycontrol, a source close to Dhanush said that the actor and Mrunal are just good friends and they are not going to get married.
Later, an AI-generated video went viral in which the couple was seen marrying in the presence of popular Tollywood actors, which again sparked the buzz but later faded. Dhanush was married to Aishwarya, and he had never planned to get married to Mrunal or anyone else, according to sources. The source further claimed that the actor is now focused on co-parenting his sons, Yatra and Linga, with his ex-wife, Aishwarya.
