Mouni Roy, who is known for her dance numbers in hit movies is currently grabbing attention for her alleged unusual behaviour at Rani Mukerji's Durga Puja celebrations. Mouni was part of the star-studded guest lineup of the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai, where she appeared in a gorgeous yellow saree. Although Durga Puja is officially over, the celebrity glimpses are still making rounds on social media.
In the concerned video, which was shared by Filmymantra TV, Mouni greeted the paps, when she appeared to have been disbalanced or disoriented at some point. Later in the clip, the Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva actress interacted with celebs, including filmmaker Ayan Mukerji, and seemed completely normal. However, the video's caption made fans wonder whether Mouni Roy was drunk or if something was wrong with her.
Some even pointed out that Mouni seemed to have lost a lot of weight, which seemed to change her appearance a little. Unverified online chatter labelled Mouni Roy as a habitual drinker, and the October 2026 post about her from the Durga pandal added fuel to the buzz. The caption of the Filmymantra TV post could be read as:

The speculation around Mouni Roy's alleged drinking habits was sparked after journalist Simi Chandoke made a controversial remark about her. During her June 2026 appearance in Siddharth Kanan's podcast, the host asked Simi about celebrities and their public appearances. During the conversation, she claimed she had never seen Mouni sober in any paparazzi video.
The journalist suggested that the actress was always under the influence. Later in the conversation, when Kanan asked her to name an actor who is always drunk, Simi responded by naming Sanjay Dutt. Regarding Mouni, Simi Chandoke stated:
"Maine aaj tak uski koi footage nahi dekhi hai paparazzi vali jisme woh sober hai. She is always drunk."
Simi's remarks reminded fans of a buzzworthy incident involving Mouni Roy that took place just a few months earlier, in January 2026. At that time, the Naagin actress was still married to her then-husband Suraj Nambiar. The incident took place when she was photographed exiting a restaurant in Mumbai after attending a New Year celebration with Suraj, her Bollywood bestie, Disha Patani, and others.
As Mouni stepped out of the venue, she tripped and fell on the steps while walking towards her car. Suraj Nambiar and Disha Patani immediately rushed to help Mouni, with him supporting her as he escorted her safely to the car. Videos of the incident spread across social media, prompting speculation from netizens about whether her fall was due to heavy intoxication.
"Is she drunk?" one social media user commented, while another sarcastically stated, "Jyada party kar li hai kya?" Mouni's October 2026 video from Durga Puja added to her allegations of being "always drunk." Notably, the entire buzz is speculative, and no verified sources have confirmed Mouni's alcoholism. The actress herself has also not publicly addressed the issue yet.
