Amid this, Mouni’s old heartfelt note on her mom-in-law’s birthday resurfaced.
Currently, the eagle-eyed fans are keeping an eye on Mouni’s social media handle, in which she used to often post love-filled posts for her husband, Suraj Nambiar. For the uninitiated, Suraj is a Dubai-based businessman and reportedly has a whopping net worth of around Rs. 50 crore. The Naagin actress kept her partner’s identity low-key until their wedding on January 27, 2022. In the same year, in September 2022, Mouni, along with her family, including her husband, Suraj and his family, were vacationing in the Maldives.
In the foreign land, Mouni grandly celebrated her mom-in-law’s birthday. In the Reel, the Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva actress dazzled in an off-shoulder crop top with floral prints. She was also wearing a beach hat and black sunglasses. However, it was her emotional note for her mom-in-law that caught our attention. She called herself 'luckiest' to have 'two mamas' in her life. She wrote:
"Happy happy birthday, mama @nambiarrenuka. You fill my eyes with love & life with immense joy, am the luckiest to have both my mamas and dad in my life, okay your son & Tathun also love you dher saara. Thank you @fushifaru for your love & hospitality. Mummys are very happy."
Mouni and Suraj reportedly met through mutual friends and grew close. During the pandemic, Mouni’s repeated travels to Dubai sparked rumours that there might be a special person in her life. She kept Suraj’s identity completely hidden until their marriage in 2022. Mouni’s close friend, Roopali, once shared a poolside selfie featuring the Naagin 2 actress and Suraj, further fuelling dating buzz. On January 27, 2022, Mouni and Suraj exchanged vows as per Malayali and Bengali rituals. Sharing the wholesome pictures, Mouni wrote:
"I found him at last... Hand in hand, blessed by family & friends, we're married! Need your love and blessings… 27.01.22 Love, Suraj & Mouni."
The pair kept their personal life away from the media glare. In an old interview with India Today, Mouni gave a rare glimpse into her relationship with Suraj Nambiar. The Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva actress explained that she doesn’t consider Suraj as her better half. She called her husband the biggest supporter. She was quoted as saying:
"I don’t believe that he (Suraj Nambiar, Mouni’s husband) is my better half, I feel he is my biggest supporter and I am his. I am whole on my own and he is whole on his own. We have chosen to be with one another. It’s friendship and union because we love one another and we choose each other every single day."
Mouni and Suraj first sparked divorce buzz after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Amid the buzz, Mouni’s best friend, Disha Patani, also unfollowed Suraj on Instagram. It is worth mentioning that neither Mouni nor Suraj has made any official declaration about parting ways or trouble in marital bliss.
