She recently played the lead in the Amazon original series Mind the Malhotras. The actress received seven Best Actress awards for her role as 'Shefali Malhotra' in the series. However, recently she hasn't been in the headlines for her professional accomplishments but rather for her remarks about actors hosting the award shows. While many believed Mini Mathur's comment was about Alia Bhatt's performance as the host, the actress has now confirmed that it was not.

After Mini Mathur's comment went viral on social media, the actress herself came forward to clarify what she meant by her statement. Mini, in a conversation with HT City, revealed that the speculation about shading Alia "rubbish". She shared that the internet often created something out of nothing and explained why she commented what she did. The host claimed that the content creator had an interesting take on having actors as hosts for such award shows, which she found compelling. She was quoted as saying:

"To just create stories out of nothing is what the internet does. I will tell you why I commented… the creator had an interesting take on why award shows insist on using actors as hosts and then later complain about them falling short of their 'expectations'. It is not their main skill set, so why the expectations? It’s like asking a host to act at gunpoint. I only commented on that."

Mini Thakur further addressed the alleged beef between her and Alia Bhatt. In the same conversation with HT City, Mini shared that there was no rivalry between the two actresses; in fact, she loved Alia. She added that what was even more humorous was that she hadn't even seen the award show the internet was talking about. The host completely shut down the rumours of any bad blood between the two with her comment. She was quoted as saying:
