Dianna Russini, a senior NFL insider for The Athletic, is currently at the centre of a significant controversy following the release of Page Six's exclusive photos of her on April 7, 2026. The images show 43-year-old Dianna and New England Patriots head coach, Mike Vrabel, together at a luxury resort in Sedona, Arizona. They were seen indulging in PDA. The shots were taken on March 28, 2026, and the duo maintained that they were hanging out with a bunch of other people. Recently, the issue gained fresh momentum after rumours surfaced that the images had been leaked by a PI hired by either Dianna's or Mike's spouse.
Just days after Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel sparked immense buzz with their hand-holding and hugging pictures, social media users came up with a theory that one of their spouses was behind the leak of the private photos. Initial reports claimed that a fan had a chance encounter with Dianna and Mike at the Arizona hotel, took their snaps, and shared them with TMZ; however, the angles and clarity of the zoomed images led netizens to think they were taken by a professional, specifically a PI (private investigator). The internet was divided over who among Dianna's husband, Kevin Goldschmidt, and Mike Vrabel's wife, Jennifer Vrabel, might have hired the PI.
Recently, a prominent sports radio personality, Jared Stillman shared that, according to his understanding of the situation, Dianna's husband is most likely to have leaked the photos. The Game 102.5-FM host also shared the reason why he thinks so. According to him, it was a revenge move by Kevin Goldschmidt because of the alleged demeaning way his wife talks about him in public. Jared feels Dianna's public statements show how "little respect" she has for her husband. The second reason he presented was that if the couple were to get divorced, the Mike Vrabel affair angle would give Kevin an upper hand.
Notably, Dianna and Kevin's divorce buzz has been going on for quite some time due to her occasional jokes about their lack of intimacy, differences of opinion, and other issues. She even once said that if her husband was a celebrity and more good-looking, she would've posted him on social media more often. The chatter around their separation heightened after her rumours of an affair with Mike Vrabel surfaced. The third reason Jared feels Kevin leaked the images is that it would end Dianna's career as an NFL reporter because she breached the terms of her job by engaging with a subject on a personal level. Jared wrote on X:
"Personally, I think it was Dianna Russini's husband who hired the PI. Why? Because not only does he [Kevin] have the upper hand in a potential divorce but it bombs her career at the same. Mike Vrabel's wife would have nothing to gain by these pictures being public."

She described the reporting as "unmoored from the facts." The letter noted the "damage" caused by the public attention surrounding her affair buzz with Mike Vrabel. Additionally, Dianna said she has covered the NFL with "professionalism and dedication" for over 15 years and stands by every story she has published.
