As the weeks went on, fans became increasingly convinced that the duo were involved in an extramarital affair. Amid this, social media users are now drawing parallels between the Minnesota Vikings' notorious "Love Boat" scandal and Dianna and Mike's 2021 boat outing.
The most recent leak in the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini story came last week when unseen photos and videos of the pair from their boat ride in 2021 were published. Well, as the internet began dissecting the reports of Dianna and Mike's boat outing, some started revisiting the infamous Minnesota Vikings' “Love Boat” scandal, which took place in 2005, shocking the NFL and dominating headlines for a long time.
For those unaware, it was back in October 2005 when a number of Minnesota Vikings players reportedly spent a bye week aboard on luxury yachts on Lake Minnetonka. At the time, many initially believed it to be a normal private party, that is, before several disturbing eyewitness accounts emerged that turned it into a nationwide scandal. According to the reports, several sex workers have been flown in from different states, with former Vikings cornerback, Fred Smooth even admitting later on that there had been nearly 100 women aboard the yachts. A report by The Daily Mail states:
“Staff aboard the vessel reported seeing players engaging in oral sex and other graphic acts with the sex workers atop the bars and in the middle of the room.”
Reportedly, the aftermath of the party was so bad that it left the crew members horrified. The cleaning staff claimed that they found “used condoms, K-Y jelly, Handi Wipes and wrappers for sex” scattered all over the yachts. One worker revealed, “It was just incredible how it was left. Never in the history of this group of people have they ever had anything like this.” It is worth noting that, unlike the Vikings' scandal, there have been no allegations of criminal conduct related to the Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini rumours. Still, the internet found ways to draw parallels between the two because of the boat setting as well as the intense public backlash. Now, with the NFL's notorious “Love Boat” story revived, it highlights that not all stories of league scandals truly disappear from public memory, even decades later.
At the beginning of last month, TMZ published a video of Mike Vrabel with a pregnant Dianna Russini on April 7, 2026. For those unaware, Dianna is married to a Shake Shack senior executive named Kevin Goldschmidt. The duo share two sons, Michael and Joey. As per the now-viral clip, Dianna appeared to be in her first pregnancy. It also captured her and Mike walking on the dock of a private rental company in June 2021. Reports suggest that Mike and Dianna were preparing to head out onto a lake in Putnam County, Tennessee.
As per TMZ, in the video, Dianna is believed to be 6-7 months pregnant. The publication further claimed that Mike Vrabel intended to keep their weekend private and low-key. Reportedly, the duo were cautious about their photos being taken while they were renting a private boat together to allegedly spend some quality time.
