The heartfelt post was a touching tribute to the late NASCAR team owner, Bill Davis, who passed away two days earlier at the age of 74. Michael shared a picture of a racing suit stitched with "Davis" written on it. Along with the post he penned:
"Bill was so special to a lot of people, and I'm so happy I got to be one of them."

Michael Annett was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 23, 1986, to Harold Annett, founder of TMC Transportation, a longtime backer of racing teams and a major supporter of Michael's early career. Harold passed away in 2022, but was one of the biggest influences in Michael's life. Whereas his mother, Deborah, was married to Harrold for 38 years, and Michael grew up in a family deeply connected to motorsports. Not much is known about his love except that he dated someone named Heidi Spillane in 2013. During his past interview with the Des Moines Register, the racing star revealed how his parents intentionally scheduled his birth and penned:
"My parents planned the C-section to be on a Monday so I could be at Knoxville that weekend."
Michael Annett more than a decade competing in NASCAR's national series. He raced most of his career in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, where he earned 26 top-five finishes, three poles, and a fifth-place ranking in the 2019 season standings. The biggest milestone of his career came in 2019 when he won the Daytona season opener, a moment that remains a highlight in his legacy.
Michael also competed in the Cup Series from 2009 to 201, racing for popular teams including Richard Petty Motorsports, Germain Racing, and JR Motorsports. After suffering a re-injury to his femur in 2021, Annett made the emotional decision to retire.
