Michael '5000' Watts was married to Tammy '5000' Watts, and if the reports are to be believed, they were parents to five daughters and grandparents to two little ones. On her social media page, she described herself as a 'Queen of Swishahouse and HTX'. She further tagged herself as a mother and a wife. A rare heart problem caused a sudden cardiac arrest, which claimed Michael '5000' Watts's life

It was only a few days ago that Tammy sat for an interview with Fox 26 Houston, wherein she revealed that her husband, Michael '5000' Watts, was suffering from a health issue, which led him to be admitted to a hospital for several days. For the unversed, Michael '5000' Watts was suffering from Torsades de Pointes, which is a rare form of rapid heart rhythm, known as tachycardia.

Torsades de Pointes begins in the lower chambers of the heart and causes the heartbeat to reach 150-300 beats per minute, whereas a normal heartbeat is 60-100 beats per minute. In the same interview, Tammy revealed that Michael was hospitalised for several days, and his fans got the information about the same, which led them to reach the hospital. There was one particular fan who moved her. Tammy further talked about Michael's legacy, while revealing that their kids are growing up, listening to his music. She further shared that her husband was sedated as per the doctor's orders, so that his body could heal after the treatment.

However, it was on January 30, 2026, when Michael '5000' Watts passed away. His wife released a statement, wherein she revealed the cause of his death, which was a cardiac arrest, which was caused by the health issue he had. In the statement, it was further revealed that Michael was surrounded by his close ones during the time of his passing. The family has taken on the responsibility of carrying forward Michael's legacy. He was born in Houston and started his career as a DJ by selling mixes he made in the neighbourhood. He co-founded Swishahouse and gained attention for his work in the 'chopped and screwed' style.
