Melissa Mae Carlton, who lost two daughters in the gap of a year, revealed why she agreed to an online fundraiser after the recent death of her younger daughter, Molly, while recalling 'miracles'.
Influencer, Melissa Mae Carlton is going through a tough phase of her life, as within the gap of one year, she lost two of her daughters, Abigail and Molly. It was on Christmas 2025, when Melissa lost her younger daughter, Molly, and the incident surely left her broken. Melissa married her childhood friend, Tom, and welcomed four children.
Everything was like a fairy tale, and it finally turned into a nightmare when Melissa and Tom's elder daughter, Abigail, passed away last year. While they were already surviving this pain, another hit with Molly's death left them broken. After sharing the news of Molly's death, Melissa shared why she agreed to online fundraising after her daughter's demise.
Melissa Mae Carlton allowed her close ones to allow a fundraising campaign to cover the medical bills of her daughter, Molly. Now, after she passed away, Melissa shared why she said 'yes' to the same. She thanked her well-wishers for coming forward and helping, while adding that during the last time, she and her husband, Tom, were asked if they would want a fundraiser, but they didn't need help back then; the recent situation was different.
For the unversed, Melissa lost her elder daughter, Abigail last year. Talking about the current situation, Melissa, in the post, said that during Molly's time, expenses, complications, and other things were pretty much different, which led them to say 'yes' to the online fundraising campaign. Thanking everyone who helped, Melissa wrote:
"I have to also say thank you as I know there are a couple of fundraisers getting passed around for us. We were asked last time if we would like one set up, but we said no because [we] did not need the help. This time is quite different, though, with lots of different expenses, complications and unknowns. And so, experiencing this kindness is an overwhelming thing to experience. People are amazing."
One can only imagine the pain Melissa is suffering from. Sharing an emotional note on social media, she shared what caused Molly's death, although not officially diagnosed. While sharing the same, Melissa also mentioned that she and Tom witnessed several small miracles during Molly's hospitalisation. She also mentioned that everything seemed to be aligned perfectly, and Molly fought so hard but couldn't survive. Recalling what miracles she noticed, Melissa shared:
"That morning, we witnessed many small miracles. Paramedics were stationed just three minutes away and arrived quickly. The pediatric trauma centre was only fifteen minutes from where we were. We were in the best possible place, with everything aligned for the best conditions and the best outcome. Her little body fought so hard. But we’ve been told that this type of cardiac event is, in most cases, not survivable."
It was in 2024 when Melissa lost Abigail, and the reason was sepsis. For those who don't know, sepsis is a serious condition that can be fatal, resulting from the body's response to harmful infection, bacteria, fungi, or other tissues. Well, the reason for Molly's demise was different, as shared by Melissa. She suffered a cardiac arrest, and doctors told the influencer that it could be a genetic heart condition.
Melissa shared that it has not been officially diagnosed what led to what, but doctors shared that even a minor illness can trigger cardiac arrest, and most of them become impossible to survive. Molly's brother Harry told her mom that only two days ago, the former expressed her wish to be with her late elder sister, and now she's gone. Melissa is suffering from a major heartbreak, which is seemingly next to impossible to navigate, but she shared that it's only giving her peace at a place where both of their daughters could reunite.
