At present, she is hogging the spotlight after it was reported that she is serving in a senior role on Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong’s gubernatorial campaign. The news comes ahead of next week’s Democratic primary. For the unversed, Renee Olstead, who also goes by Renee Faust, is serving as Francesca’s deputy campaign manager. So with the focus on Renee, let us know more about her.
Many might recognise Renee Olstead due to her long-time acting career. The Milwaukee native has been stacking up on-screen credits in movies and shows from a young age, including 13 Going on 30, Still Standing, and The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Apart from acting, Renee Olstead has also made a name for herself as a singer.
Notably, her skills landed her on-stage at a Berlin Live 8 concert alongside the likes of Paul McCartney, Sting, and Madonna. She has even been nominated for a Grammy and a Golden Globe for Best Original Song.
Fans could not stop praising Renee when she showed off her on-stage skills alongside David Arquette in a production of Sherlock Holmes. During a 2015 interview, the actress claimed that she had never done theatre before Sherlock Holmes; however, she was already hooked.
When she was asked what she believes is a career high for her, Renee Olstead shared that there are too many to count while adding that she loves working and feels the happiest while pushing herself.
For those wondering how Renee split her time between acting and music, she claimed that it depended on which projects came up first. She also took into consideration what felt like the right next step. She stated:
"Music takes longer. I feel like it takes me a lot more time to create a music project and pick a direction than to step onto a project and play a character.”

It is worth mentioning that Renee’s life has not always been a bed of roses. Back in 2011, after actress Scarlett Johansson filed a criminal complaint, the FBI announced that they were investigating an alleged hacking of celebrity cell phone and email accounts. The authorities also announced that they were investigating the dissemination of explicit nude photographs of Scarlett and around 50 more celebrities, including Renee Olstead.
While the perpetrator, a Florida man named Christopher Chaney, was arrested, Renee had testified during the trial that she had attempted suicide after her nude pictures were leaked. She noted that before the hacking, she had never considered suicide in her life.
Coming to Renee Olstead’s personal life, she has been married twice. On August 3, 2014, she tied the knot with pianist Tommy King in Los Angeles. She even legally took his last name, but their marriage came to an end within a few years as they divorced in 2020. Having found love again, in 2024, Renee married a healthcare writer named Timothy Faust.
In November 2020, Renee announced that she was launching an OnlyFans page. A few years later, in 2023, she also began working as an associate marriage and family therapist specializing in sex therapy.
As per reports, Renee Olstead has worked as a paid campaign operative since at least January 2026. Promoting Francesca Hong, the actress’ X (formerly Twitter) bio reads, “HONG 4 GOV” and links to Francesca’s get-out-the-vote page.
Renee’s social media also features several pictures from the campaign events. When Francesca Hong's campaign was asked to confirm Renee's title and responsibilities by media outlets, they said:
“Renee Faust is a licensed mental health clinician who has spent her career providing care to trafficking survivors. Since joining the campaign in December, she has helped build the largest grassroots campaign in Wisconsin history. The right-wing politicians attacking her are the same ones who want government dictating women’s health care decisions.”
