Who is Olivia Dean's alleged boyfriend, Eddie Burns? Here's everything you need to know about him.
Olivia Dean is a British singer and songwriter and is widely known for her single, Man I Need. She received worldwide recognition for this work. Currently, she is hogging the limelight after being recognised by Billboard as the 2025 Rookie of the Year. She first gained the spotlight with her debut album, Messy.
Coming to her personal life, Olivia is currently dating Eddie Burns. Earlier, she was romantically linked with Harry Styles. For the unversed, Harry Styles, English songwriter, is rumoured to be engaged to American actress and filmmaker, Zoe Kravitz. Now that Olivia Dean is making headlines with her recent milestone, let us introduce you to the love of her life, Eddie Burns.
According to a report by Tuko, Eddie Burns was born on April 24, 1998, in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his education at the Merit School of Music and the Jazz Institute of Chicago. He is a jazz-trained drummer and producer and is best known for performing with Clairo's band. He has toured internationally with Clairo, Omar Apollo, and Macy Gray. Eddie is widely known for his relationship with Olivia Dean.
According to a report by Tuko, Eddie Burns and Olivia Dean made their relationship official in July 2025. The duo was seen holding hands and enjoying a match at Wimbledon's Centre Court in July 2025. However, both Olivia and Eddie remained tight-lipped about their relationship. In late 2024, Olivia was romantically linked with Harry Styles. However, industry insiders dismissed the romance rumours and shared that the duo were friends.
In an October 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Olivia Dean shared that earlier she held a different perspective about love. However, with time, things have changed. She mentioned that earlier, she thought that when a relationship ends, it’s all dead for the person. But as time passed, she found it unrealistic. She highlighted that even if someone was not the love of one’s life, it didn’t mean that the relationship was meaningless. She added that romantic love is not the most important thing in her life. She was quoted as saying:
"I used to have a very black-and-white view of love. Either we’re together, and we’re going to get married, or we’re not together anymore and you’re dead to me. Never speak to me again. I realised that that’s not quite realistic. There’s so much in between to be had. Just because someone wasn’t the love of your life doesn’t mean it wasn’t important or meaningful or that that person doesn’t still deserve respect. Romantic love is not the most important thing in my life, and I don’t think that’s cynical to say. I love my friends, I love my family. There’s so much to pour into there."
Olivia shared that she doesn’t need to be in a relationship. She mentioned that if somebody comes into her life, it’s good and if someone doesn’t, then also she is okay with it, as she loves her life. She talked about the preconceived notions existing in society about relationships. She was quoted as saying:
"I don’t need to be in a relationship. How about just existing? If one comes and it’s amazing, that’s so good. And if it doesn’t? I still love my life. It took time to get there, though. You’re told as a woman constantly, ‘Why don’t you have a man? Make yourself more beautiful so that you can get a man!’ How about I need to work? How about I love my friends? And if one comes, that’s amazing for me. If one doesn’t, I’ll survive. Listen, I could be Tracee Ellis Ross. She is thriving. Maybe I want to be a cool auntie without any stress in the world."
