Shyam Gopalan a.k.a Shyam Rajagopalan, is an investment banker. According to the Starsunfolded report, Shyam was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance. He has worked as a manager at the Global Insurance Consulting Company LLC. As per the report, Shyam was earlier married to a woman named Satrupa. Their marriage details are not available publicly. However, it was his marriage to Indian actress, Mona Singh that brought him into the limelight. Mona tied the knot with Shyam on December 27, 2019.
In a 2020 interview with Pinkvilla, Mona Singh revealed how she met her husband, Shyam Gopalan. Mona highlighted that she had known Shyam since 2015. The TV actress shared that she met him through a friend at a birthday party. She highlighted that while she can be annoying at times, Shyam is very cool. She added some details about how things started between her and Shyam. She was quoted as saying:
"I have known him for the last 5 years. I met him through a friend at a friend's birthday party, and we hit it off. He is a very funny man who was a big tick for me. I like people with a good sense of humour. What I like about him is that he lets me be. He doesn't want to change a single thing about me. I can be very annoying at times, but he is very cool. I like him. He respects me; I respect him. We give each other space."
According to a report by Spotbye, Shyam is the father of one daughter named Anika Rajagopalan. It is noteworthy to mention that Mona and Shyam have not yet welcomed any child. In a past interview with The Times of India, Mona shared that she had frozen her eggs at the age of 34. She highlighted that even though she loves kids, she was not mentally prepared to have one. She was quoted as saying:
"I have frozen my eggs, and now I am free. I did that at the age of 34. Because I have gotten married now, I want to chill with my partner and travel the world with him. I haven't done that yet. I have always travelled with my family or friends. I want to do that with my husband now, and it is a different feeling now -- going for walks, getting all the attention, all this is so nice. Even though I love kids, if you ask me now, I am not mentally prepared to have one. Later in life, I would definitely think about it."
