Marvel's 'Avengers: Doomsday' fans got a big update. However, it was not the happy one they had hoped for.
Avengers: Doomsday has been one of the most anticipated projects by Marvel. The film is the fifth instalment in the Avengers film series, following Avengers: Endgame, which was released in 2019. The film will also be the 39th project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, while there is still a year to wait until the film hits the theatres in 2026, it seems like the writers have also found themselves in quicksand, as they are not yet able to finalise the ending.
Marvel Studios has not yet finalised the Avengers: Doomsday ending. According to a post by Daniel Richtman on his Patreon account, Marvel has yet to lock the final act of the film. The well-known internet persona, Daniel, revealed that Stephen McFeely, who is writing the script, is working with Marvel to finalise the ending. Daniel Richtman also shared that Marvel Studios is shooting certain scenes for the Avengers: Doomsday in the world of The Fantastic Four: First Step. These scenes will take place during a basketball game, which has further piqued the fans' interest.
According to recent reports, the Avengers: Doomsday plot has been leaked, revealing that the film will involve incursions between Earth-616 and Earth-10005, also known as the 'X-Men' universe. 'Shuri' and 'Black Panther' played by 'Letitia Wright', will be the one who discovers the 'Incursions'. The report further revealed that while detecting anomalies in the fabric of reality and investigating the multiverse, Letita will realise that several different universes are beginning to collide.
Directors, Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, along with their longtime screenwriter, Stephen McFeely, and Michael Waldron, will introduce the beginning of the end in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Newton Thomas Sigel will be the cinematographer. As the multiverse nears total collapse, the Avengers will assemble once again to face the greatest challenge they have ever encountered. The incursions, catastrophic collisions between realities, inch towards destroying the entire multiverse, as Earth's mightiest heroes join forces and race against time to save their reality while confronting the powerful figure behind it all, 'Victor Von Doom' essayed by Robert Downey Jr.
Avengers: Doomsday is an upcoming American superhero film. Produced by Marvel Studios and AGBO, the film will be distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Marvel President Kevin Feige has also revealed at CinemaCon 2025 that Avengers: Doomsday will focus on the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, the New Avengers (also known as Thunderbolts), and the original X-Men uniting to fight Doctor Doom. Avengers: Doomsday will be released in theatres and IMAX across the United States on December 18, 2026.
