For the unversed, the crime thriller is scheduled to hit the silver screen on January 30, 2026. According to the trailer of the film, Mardaani 3 is expected to explore the dark side of human tr*******ng. Amid the buzz around the film, directed by Abhiraj Minawala, take a look at the huge paycheques of the lead cast.
Details regarding the plot of Mardaani 3 have been kept under the wraps by the makers; however the trailer of the crime thriller suggests that the movie will revolve around 'Shivani Shivaji Roy' (played by Rani Mukerji), who is asked to investigate the case involving multiple missing girls. Soon, she notices a pattern and understand that the case is not just of missing girls but also of se***l violence and human tra*****ng. The film introduces antagonist, Mallika Prasad as 'Amma', who leads the brutal network. 'Amma', in the trailer, was seen challenging 'Shivani', which suggests a fierce face-off between the two.
For those who do not know, Rani Mukerji has been the face of the film franchise, Mardaani. Since the first film, which was released in 2014, Rani Mukerji has been the face of the franchise. Since a decade, Rani has received a lot of love for her fierce role as 'Shivani Shivaji Roy'. If reports are to be believed, Rani Mukerji took home approximately Rs. 7 crore. Reportedly, she was the highest paid actress on the set of Mardaani 3.
On the other hand, Janki Bodiwala will also be seen in the film, Mardaani 3. Reportedly, she will be playing the role of a police officer alongside Rani Mukerji. A recent report by Filmibeat claimed that Janki charged an amount of Rs. 1 crore. Apart from them, Mallika Prasad, who plays the role of the main antagonist, 'Amma'. According to the trailer of the film, 'Amma' is the mastermind behind the case of missing girls and the brutal network of human tra*****ing. Reportedly, Mallika Prasad took home a paycheque of Rs. 40 lakhs.
A few days ago, Rani Mukerji had a conversation with Mid-Day, during which she opened up about her role in Mardaani 3. She also shared that whenever she does Mardaani, her goal is to make the audience realise the issues that happen in the country. She had shared:
"Emotionally, the trauma that the girls suffer in the film is also what we suffer indirectly, as we know that they are inspired by true events. To think of the missing girls and what their families go through is traumatising. When I pick up subjects like Mardaani, I’m trying to shake people up and tell them, Look, this is happening around us."
Recently, during an interview with New Indian Express, Rani Mukerji also opened up about Mallika Prasad’s audition for Mardaani 3. She revealed that it was the aura and demeanor of Mallika that was perfect for the role. Rani said:
"For Mallika, I think it was just her demeanor. She really fit like a glove into the part of Amma. She is also a very accomplished theatre artist, so that really added to the whole thing."
