Pop sensation, Madonna, once again proved why she is hailed as the queen of Pop. The diva recently gave all her fans a big surprise with her performance. As Madonna gave a surprise performance at Times Square, her fans couldn’t hide their excitement to see their favourite star in her best form.
It was a spectacular sight when Madonna stopped the traffic at Times Square, turned on a spectacular veil of hot pink. As she tossed aside her cloak, the intro of her Confession II single, I Feel So Free was declared. It was a special Pride Month performance in partnership with the queer app Grindr. The pop star instructed the crowd to come and meet her on the dance floor.
Times Square was lit up in Madonna and Grindr’s pink branding before the musician appeared on a raised stage. Her fans couldn’t stop cheering for the diva. The set was filled with dancefloor beats as Madonna sang her collaborative single, Bring Your Love, Hung Up and more. Madonna’s performance also included imagery from pride protests of the past displayed across Times Square.
Seven years after the release of her 14th studio album, the Billboard 200 No. 1 Madame X, Madonna dropped her highly anticipated 15th record, Confessions II, on April 15, 2026. Apart from being her first work in more than half a decade, the new record is also the singer’s first album since her return to Warner Records.
Warner Records was Madonna’s first label after she signed with it in 1982. She remained with the label for the first 25 years of her career, during which she released 11 albums, including the original Confessions. In a now-deleted post, Madonna penned her emotions after her return to Warner Records and teased the new album, writing:
“Almost 2 decades later — And it feels like home with Warner Records! Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor, Back to where it all began! COADF – Pt. 2 2026.”
On April 17, 2026, Madonna made a surprise appearance during Sabrina Carpenter’s Coachella weekend 2 headlining. She performed an unreleased duet with the singer. Following the surprise performance, Madonna released the first song from Confessions II at midnight on April 18, 2026.
Madonna made her relationship public with her 28-year-old beau, Akeem Morris, in 2024. The two were often seen together, but the buzz about their romance really picked up when they were spotted in New York. It was reported that they started dating on Madonna's 66th birthday, and they were together for the celebration. Several pictures from Madonna's birthday surfaced, hinting at their affair.
Before dating Morris, Madonna was in a relationship with Josh Popper, with whom she broke up in 2024. She had known Morries since 2022, but their relationship buzz began in 2024. According to multiple reports, after Akeem appeared in one of Madonna's photoshoots for Paper magazine, the two began bonding. For the unversed, AKeem Morris is a former soccer player, born in Jamaica.
