Mackenzie Shirilla has been in prison ever since she was accused of killing her boyfriend, Dominic Russo and their mutual friend, Davion Flanagan. This was after she rammed her car into a brick wall back in July 2022. Now, her father has been saying that her actions were unintentional. Steve revealed that his daughter, Mackenzie, is not mad to kill her own boyfriend.

Mackenzie Shirilla's dad, Steve, shares that his daughter did not intentionally kill her boyfriend

Mackenzie Shirilla's dad, Steve, in an interview with True Crime This Week, shared that it made no sense that his daughter would have intentionally killed her boyfriend. In the Netflix documentary titled The Crash, evidence showed that she was not shown in court and appeals were filed to kind of overturn her conviction. He claimed it made no sense that she may have intentionally killed Russo with their mutual friend in the car. In his words:

"I've asked her, 'Did you do this on purpose?' And she goes, 'No.' And I would think if my daughter was that mad, that mad at that boy to want to kill him that way. Davion would have never been in the car. This makes no sense."

Her act was not intentional.

Mackenzie Shirilla's dad, Steve, reveals his daughter had remorse post the incident

Well, prosecutors during the trial of Mackenzie Shirilla shared that the black box data, surveillance footage, and various social media clips show a different intention. It hinted that Mackenzie wanted to end her toxic relationship with Russo, and it was not seen as an accident. Steve alleged that his daughter had a lot of remorse post the accident. In his words:

"That's another thing that's huge. I sat with my daughter for three months in that room right there. Three months watching her watch every video, every song, every picture about that boy. There was a shrine to him in that room — shrine. [She] cried herself to sleep every night. I know the trolls are going to go, 'Good. She should cry herself to sleep. She has remorse. She was upset."

Mackenzie Shirilla has been convicted of murder, aggravated vehicular homicide, felonious assault and drug possession. Well, Mackenzie's parents have revealed that their daughter faced a medical emergency and that the crash was not intentional. Steve shared that when Mackenzie found out her boyfriend, Dom, had died, the sound that came out of her would crush the heart of anyone. Mackenzie Shirilla's dad, Steve, shared that he will always love his daughter and will never stop fighting for her. He shared that his daughter was falsely charged. Mackenzie Shirilla's dad, Steve, shared that he cannot be convinced that his daughter committed the crime because the evidence is not put in front of him.

When Mackenzie Shirilla expressed remorse for what she did

It was in November 2022 that Mackenzie Shirilla got arrested four months post the crash. She revealed, according to The Crash documentary, that she was remorseful and wanted to make sure she had no intention. There was no intent whatsoever there. She has had excessive amounts of remorse for Dominic, for Davion, and both of their families. This was not intentional, and she will do everything to prove the same to the world and their families.
