One of the Luigi Mangione's fangirl, who call themselves as the 'Mangionistas', slammed Brian Thompson's widow, Paulette Thompson. Taking to social media after Luigi pleaded guilty of murdering Brian Thompson, one of the fangirl, Lena Weissbrot jusitified his killing.
She shared a video on social media which showed comments in support of Luigi, and wrote, "Oh the comment section does not disappoint on this reel!! A plurality of people feel exactly like I do." The comments are strange as they mention that Brian Thompson deserved to die due to his work with United Healthcare, and disregarding his family as they feel the company has cause immense pain to other families.
One of the reposted coment can be read as,"[I] know, id cry too if my husband was responsible for millions of people dying due to denied claims for life saving treatment." Another comment read, "Maybe the wife of the CEO could give away some of their riches to people who can’t pay their medical bills."
Another wrote, "You talking about the woman that was living a privileged life on the backs of the sick and dying?" A netizen called Luigi a hero for the murder of Brian and claimed that he denied cancer patients treatment, it read, “Luigi is a hero. Brian Thompson denied CANCER patients treatment. Private health insurance CEOs kill is every day."
The 32-year-old fangirl often appear outside the courthouse in downtown Manhattan during the Luigi Mangione's trial. But she was absent during the proceedings when he pleaded guilty of killing Brian Thompson. It is worth mentioning that her own mother, Reina Natero, also works in health insurance.
Earlier, the three fangirls defended their right to get press credentials as they have been operating a blog. One of the fangirls, Ashley Rojas also passed a heated remark and said:
"F—k Brian Thompson. That’s all I want to say. F—k Brian Thompson. F—k his mom."
In the latest court proceedings, Luigi admitted that he was driven to kill Brian Thompson due to his personal experiences. He admitted that he researched and got to know that Brian Thompson would be attending a meeting in New York City, where he shot him and he died.
Luigi Mangiones has been in police custody without bail at a notorious jail in Brooklyn, which also holds rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs. His trial will begin in September 2026, followed by his sentencing in December 2026. He has been facing eight charges, including second-degree murder, possession of fake driver's license, and six counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
However, Luigi's lawyers are going to try their best to dismiss those charges following his guilty plea. It is worth mentioning that Luigi was arrested five days after after the killing of Brian Thompson in 2024. He allegedly held a gun, bullets and multiple faks IDs and cash. He also had a hand written document where he expressed his 'ill will' towards corporate America.
As soon as Luigi was arrested and charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, his cousin, Nino Mangion released a statement on behalf of the entire family. He expressed that his family was in shock and devastated. In the statement, they offered prayers for the family of Brian Thompson.
