She revealed that her cancer has metastasized to her bones and there is nothing left for her to do. Amid the devastating revelation, let's take a look at who her ex-husband, Owain Yeoman, is.
Lucy Davis is facing an extremely difficult time with her cancer taking a turn for the worse. Amid that, the fans have grown curious about her personal life as well. For the unversed, the actress was previously married to Owain Yeoman, a Welsh actor who rose to fame for playing CBI Agent 'Wayne Rigsby' in the CBS series The Mentalist. While not much is known about their relationship, reports have alleged that they first met in 2005 in Los Angeles while trying to find work.
According to reports, the couple was introduced by Lucy Davis' co-star Patrick Baladi. The actress and Owain Yeoman soon fell in love and, after a whirlwind romance, tied the knot at St Paul's Cathedral in London. However, their romance soon fizzled out, as in February 2011 they separated and finalized their divorce in October 2011, citing irreconcilable differences.
Lucy Davis took to her social media handle on August 11, 2026 (ET) and shared a lengthy note sharing an update on her cancer. The actress revealed that her Stage 4 Breast Cancer has metastasized to her bones and has become incurable. She asked her followers not to ignore anything, as she, too, almost skipped a tiny lump she felt. She stated:
"I wanted to share something with you all that I've kept to myself for a while but for various reasons would like to share now. A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer, which has metastasized to my bones. Specifically to my spine, right hip, and my ribs. The cancer is incurable, and too late for chemo. The initial lump that I felt wasn't a 'lump' as such; rather, a kind of hard spot. Really tiny. I almost didn't bother getting it checked."
Further in the post, Lucy Davis revealed that now her focus remains on having fun and living the life that she has left. She shared how she likes to find "teachable moments in anything negative that happens" and even joked how cancer didn't disappoint her in that regard. She talked about how much she got to learn from it. She also got candid about the pain and admitted that sometimes she has to use a wheelchair to get around. She added:
"The thing that has been most vital to me is humor. I asked my friends and family to make fun of me as much as possible (which they're really good at), and most importantly of all to not treat me like a sick person. There's nothing that will make you feel more unwell than being treated as if you're unwell. I'm not scared of whatever comes next. I'm at peace with it. I'll see my Gracie sooner than expected, and for me, leaving my physical body just means going home."
The actress concluded the note by admitting how the diagnosis was probably harder for her family than it was for her. She added that she will continue her work as an animal rights activist and would like to continue to act while she still can. She was quoted as saying:
"Any and all grieving is for my family; it's far harder for them than for me. I'm still going to keep up all my work for animal rights. It's so important to me. And I still would like to keep working. I'm perfectly able to do so, and acting is one of the biggest joys in my life. For those of you on a similar journey to mine, I do wish you well. Cancer asks a lot from us, physically and mentally. And we all get to do it however we choose."
