And the queen is here. Well, the much-awaited moment finally arrived at Cannes 2026, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan graced the red-carpet waving and smiling for the paps. The moment was surreal as photographers couldn’t stop shouting Aishwarya’s name as soon as she walked the read carpet of the event in a blue-luminara couture gown.

As soon as pictures and videos of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made its way to the social media, her fans couldn’t stop heaping praises on the beauty queen. And one of her die-hard fans took to X and posted a video of the diva promoting the brand with other celebs. She captioned the post as:

“Aishwarya Rai has arrived at Cannes Film Festival for Loreal. No one is ignoring her, she carries that aura and class. That’s how you represent yourself and your country Alia.”

Well, Aishwarya’s loyal fan not just praised the diva’s global presence. She also stated how one needs to represent their country, and shut all the noise which stated that Alia had replaced Aishwarya. However, it was the brand, L’Oreal comment on the post, which became viral in no time. On the post dissing Alia, L’Oreal commented, “Such a queen” and it garnered attention immediately.

L’Oréal Paris missed Aishwarya Rai’s poster and instead featured Alia Bhatt

Before the opening ceremony of Cannes 2026, L’Oreal faced a huge backlash when the brand missed Aishwarya Rai’s poster and instead used Alia’s. It so happened that L’Oréal Paris’ Instagram account posted a video showing large promotional posters being unfurled at Hotel Martinez in Cannes. The clip featured posters of Alia Bhatt, Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, and Helen Mirren, among others.

However, amid the posters of various celebs, Aishwarya Rai’s absence sparked a controversy among her fans. The actress has been the face of L’Oréal for more than two decades, and her missing poster triggered backlash from angry fans, who quickly expressed their disappointment over the same. One of the users penned, “No matter how many ambassadors (even 100 alias) L’Oréal signs, none of them can match the timeless elegance and commanding presence that Aishwarya brings and that holds true even today.”
