Connor Murphy was working on a documentary before his death

Connor Murphy was in production on a documentary before his death, TMZ has reported. Sources familiar with the alleged project have revealed that the fitness influencer was actively working on a documentary focused on "looksmaxxing" and "biohacking." For the unversed, Murphy rose to fame for his physique, showing his followers how to enhance their fitness journey.

For the unversed, looksmaxxing is the pursuit of maximising physical attractiveness through methods, while biohacking centres on using diets, supplements, and other techniques to optimise physical and mental performance. The report revealed that Murphy and one of his friends in Thailand had become leaders in those fields, which led them to consider the project.

Connor Murphy was allegedly struggling with his mental health before his death

The sources told TMZ that Connor Murphy was in good spirits in the months leading up to his death, with one source saying he spoke with the fitness influencer at length in May 2026. The source suggested that Murphy seemed happy, spoke normally, and showed no signs of behaviour that raised concerns. However, the recent reports by Thai authorities have revealed something different.

While the source added that something about Connor Murphy had changed following his mental breakdown during the COVID pandemic, he appeared to be in control of his behaviour during their conversation. Police say he became exhausted while swimming and eventually drowned, which led to his death, and divers recovered his body. Reports also revealed that cops found two unused syringes and unidentified white pills in Connor Murphy's vehicle, while his rental home was allegedly covered in paint splatter. Murphy's girlfriend echoed the source's claims and said she hadn't noticed any unusual behaviour leading up to his death either.

Connor Murphy's girlfriend said she had never seen him use drugs. However, the investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not announced an official cause of death. Meanwhile, social media have gone rife with a widely shared video on X. The clip, called Murphy's "last video," has gone viral, but it has since been clarified to be an old recording.

The video showed Connor Murphy speaking directly to the camera, saying he felt like he was "dying every second." The clip quickly went viral, with many claiming the video was recorded shortly before his death, alleging that drugs and depression had something to do with his sudden demise. However, the post later received a community note clearing that it was an old video. In the clip, Murphy was quoted as saying:
