Lindsay was charged with three counts of first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty to the deaths of her three children: 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan, whom she reportedly strangled to death.
While Lindsay's defense team didn't defend the fact that she killed her children, they revealed the mental web she was in that led her to allegedly kill her kids and then decide to take her own life; prosecutors claimed that the nurse pre-planned to kill her children, and that was why she sent her husband to pick up food, just moments before she committed the crime. While Lindsay's trial is ongoing and new information continues to surface, her ex-husband Patrick's new life has also drawn attention.
For the uninitiated, following the incident, Patrick divorced Lindsay and remarried. Questions have been raised about the timeline of Patrick's relationship with Lindsay. To mention, in a 2024 article, he tagged Lindsay as his ex-wife, and reportedly their divorce might have taken place between 2023 and 2024, with the horrific incident taking place in January 2023.
After his divorce from Lindsay, Patrick got married to Dr Rachel Danis, a reproductive endocrinologist and fertility specialist. The duo reportedly started dating in 2024. By 2025, the couple had moved in together, and they made a public appearance at the NYC Marathon in November 2025. If the reports are to be believed, Rachel and Patrick got married in April 2026, and the news became public information during Lindsay's trial.
According to a report, an article in The New Yorker revealed that while Patrick publicly forgave Lindsay, he didn't speak to her for months after the incident. Reportedly, she called him from one of her psychiatrist's phones before arraignment.
According to the information, on the call, she told Patrick that she loved him while sharing more about a voice directing her to kill their kids. Patrick hung up and mentioned that she sounded 'nothing like my wife'. Patrick, in court, has revealed earlier that Lindsay told him that she was hearing a man's voice directing her to kill her kids.
Patrick called her a dedicated mom who was suffering from chronic insomnia, intrusive thoughts, and anxiety, and her health eventually deteriorated. The article also revealed that Patrick called Lindsay to wish her a happy 33rd birthday back in August 2023; however, according to her father, by then she was in 'tough shape and was going downhill'. Patrick revealed that, while it might sound crazy, his wife was missing their kids. He reportedly said:
"She misses her kids. Which I know sounds crazy to some people. But that’s the reality."
