Light Up Your Wedding Reception

Using the same old lighting to light up your wedding reception can be really boring. Most wedding arrangement specialists usually use the same only highlights and directional lighting to light up wedding venues. But here are a few tips to help you guide your decorator into using something different and new for your wedding venue.

Use the dark and light areas of your wedding venue. It’s very common for mantap decorators to use the same light for the entire mantap. But what you can do is ask your decorator to use varied lighting all over the venue. Make sure that there are cosy areas for dim lighting photos and brightly lit areas for other kinds of wedding photos.

Use uplighters. These lights are nothing but spotlights that are directed toward the ceiling. You will be able to see a cone of lighting on the ceiling but everyone in the wedding venue is bathed in a mild golden glow. The photographer will be able to get really unusual photographs with this kind of lighting and the upward direct spotlights reduce the heat at the venue too.

Choose mood lighting. One common mistake by wedding specialists is to use bright lights all over the venue. But you can opt for mood lighting in the form of tea light, lanterns, lighted fountains etc. You will save on your decoration bill while still having a unique wedding.

As a precaution, consult with your wedding photographer and your videography before you choose the lighting for the venue. A few kinds of lights do not create proper photos and you don’t want the wrong wedding lighting to mess with your photos.
