'Laughter Chefs 3' Judge, Harpal Singh Sokhi Backs Bharti Singh On Body Shaming Row, 'I'm Sure...'

In a recent podcast, 'Laughter Chefs 3' judge, Harpal Singh Sokhi, reacted to the body-shaming row involving Bharti Singh and Ayesha Khan.

Bharti Singh is popularly known for her comic stance on TV shows. However, recently, she faced extreme backlash over a body-shaming remark that she made about Ayesha Khan. For the unversed, a month ago, in December 2025, the Kis Kisko Pyar Karoon 2 team had visited Laughter Chefs 3 to promote their film and Ayesha Khan, who is part of the movie, also appeared on the show. In a recent interview, Laughter Chefs 3 judge, Harpal Singh Sokhi, has reacted to the body shaming row and also defended host, Bharti Singh.

Laughter Chefs 3 judge, Harpal Singh Sokhi, reacts to the Bharti Singh-Ayesha Khan body-shaming row

In a recent podcast with HindiRush, Laughter Chefs 3 judge, Harpal Singh, reacted to the Bharti Singh-Ayesha Khan body-shaming row. Harpal shared that he honestly had no clue about it until the video started circulating online. He mentioned that when Bharti made the joke, he was standing right next to them, but it didn’t strike him as much when the people reacted to the following. Sharing his take on the following matter, Harpal was quoted as saying:

"I only understood what people were talking about after the video started circulating online. I was standing right next to them when the conversation was happening, but it didn't strike me even once that it would turn into something like this or get such reactions. To be very honest, when I saw the reactions later, I wondered when exactly this even happened. I feel it's fine- whatever was said or how people reacted, that's their perspective. But at that moment, I never felt that anything wrong or controversial was being said. It all happened in the flow."

Harpal Singh Sokhi defends Laughter Chefs 3 host, Bharti Singh

During the same conversation, Harpal defended the Laughter Chefs 3 host, Bharti Singh, on the matter. He mentioned that the comment made by the female comedian was taken out of context and was done spontaneously. Laughter Chefs 3 judge shared that he is sure that Ayesha Khan took the matter sportingly and positively. He also highlighted that Bharti didn’t have any bad intent in cracking the joke. Defending Bharti, Harpal said:

"When things are said spontaneously, they usually don't carry any negative intention. I'm sure Ayesha ji also took it in a sporting and positive way. People reacting to it is understandable, but I truly believe Ayesha ji handled it maturely. Bharti ji, too, did it without any bad intent. I don't think anyone would deliberately want to say something negative about someone."

Harpal Singh Sokhi reveals whether the cast of Laughter Chefs 3 discussed the body-shaming row

Further in the conversation, Harpal was asked whether the cast of Laughter Chefs 3 discussed the Bharti Singh-Ayesha Khan body-shaming row. In response, Harpal shared that usually he keeps himself away from such matters. He highlighted that he prefers to remain focused on himself and his work. He was quoted as saying:

"First of all, I'd like to say that I usually keep myself away from such matters. I stay focused on myself and my work, thinking about what new things I can do next. I enjoy my own space a lot. Sometimes people approach me, and at times I reach out to them, but mostly I'm comfortable being on my own. I don't like getting into discussions about what goes viral and what doesn't. I also don't believe that everything seen on the internet is completely true."

Bharti Singh-Ayesha Khan body-shaming row

In December 2025, four actresses of Kis Kisko Pyar Karoon 2, Hira Warina, Parul Gulati, Tridha Choudhury, Ayesha Khan, along with the lead actor and comedian, Kapil Sharma, appeared on the show, Laughter Chefs 3, to promote their film. During their appearance, Bharti cracked a joke, "Jab saari heroine aayi na, mujhe Ayesha ko dekh ke laga, Krushna phir se aa gaya, kyunki uski tarah lambi hai na."
